Hey everyone i could use some help/suggestions.

I am (still) new to the game and i am currently working on a Separatist and a Republic Squad to fight each other.
My budget is still rather limited since a new Magic the Gathering set just got released. So while you do not have to watch my budget on suggestion i might just not be able to implement those suggestions right away.

So i got 3 Variations of my Separatist Squad:

--Grievous' Droids v1--
57 General Grievous, Droid Army Commander
31 IG Lancer Droid
34 IG-86 Assassin Droid x2
10 San Hill
9 Battle Droid Officer
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3

Preferred Reserves:
(San Hill) 20 Bodyguard Droid

(150pts. 9 activations)

--Grievous' Droids v2--
replace 31 IG Lancer Droid
with 27 HK-50 Assassin Droid
and 4 Battle Droid

(150pts. 10 activations)

--Grievous' Droids v3--
57 General Grievous, Droid Army Commander
32 IG-86 Assassin Droid x2
15 Battle Droid Sergeant
12 Gha Nachkt
10 San Hill
8 Battle Droid Officer
7 R7 Astromech Droid
3 Battle Droid
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

Preferred Reserves:
(San Hill) 19 Bodyguard Droid

(150pts. 11 activations)

I dont own the Lancer yet so thats why i got the v2 variation at the moment in there.
The Lancer seems kind of boring since it is such a typical squad. So i took a look at GaW and decided that both the R7 and the Battle Droid Sergeant could be good addtions. After dropping the HK-50 i still had 6 points to spare and added in Gha Nachkt.

So what do you think is the third version as good as the first? And would version 2 be a good budget solution?
And since i do not know much about map choices yet. What (DCI legal) map would be good for this squad (i currently own the 3 map packs and the cloe wars starter)?

Ok after the Separatists comes the Republic.

--Yoda's Accurate Wall Climbers--
55 Grand Master Yoda
20 Clone Commander Cody
16 Queen Amidala
13 Czerka Scientist
27 Utapau Trooper x3
9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid
6 Mouse Droid x2
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

(149pts. 11 activations)

I do not own the R2 yet but i am in the process of acquirering one.
The Squad seems to be a little weak when compared to the Separatist Squad or do i just got the wrong impression here ?
The Scientist helps out on Activation Control at the moment. Still hoping for a Republic San Hill in GaW.
Any ideas how to balance out the Republic Squad against the Separatist one ?
And again what would be a good (DCI legal) map choice ?

Any further suggestions and comments are welcome.

Regards Sinister

Edit: Oh by the way. Yoda is mandatory for the Republic Squad. It is one of the pieces that helps me to get my girlfriend playing the game. When i first told her about it she was like "Uh, Ok." Then i told her that she can play with Yoda and she was really happy about that. So please do not suggest to cut him.

Edit2: I think i came up with a good Variation of the Republic Squad.

--Yoda's Force--
55 Grand Master Yoda
21 The Dark Woman
17 Gungan Shieldbearer
16 Queen Amidala
22 Antarian Ranger x2
9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid
6 Mouse Droid x2
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

(149pts. 10 activations)

Losing one Activation, Accurate Shot, Sniper and Jolt might hurt. But this way there is more health in the Squad and more protection. Dark Woman will give a Force Rating to a non Force Rating charakter so the Rangers will be beefed up a little.

I hop ethi is the last edit to this post
