I was curious:

Could anyone tell me why the Mon Calamari Tech Specialist from A&E was chosen for the Old Republic Tech Specialist???

I have been doing some research on the Mon Calamari in preparation for developing a custom mini for the 4/60 piece and discovered that the planet Mon Calamari was discovered relatively recently in galactic history by the empire. Thousands of years prior to the Battle of Yavin, the Mon Cals were a primitive isolated people not widely dispersed about the galaxy as they are in modern galactic times.

I know I am being a nitpicker but I was curious where the thinking on the specific model came from please???

As far as I can tell, the old "Tales of the Jedi" comics are festooned with humans, Cathar, and mostly the races allied with the Hutts. I suspect I will be developing a Twi'lek, or similar Hutt-allied race for 4/60 instead of a Mon Cal that would be using feudal technology on its homeworld at the time.

It was chosen because its a little used piece, from a faction that is not the Old Republic, that actually has the name "Tech Specialist" in it. It's a recommended mini, not meant to represent an actual Mon Cal 4000 BBY.

Now with that said, I don't know where you got your information, but it's flat out wrong according to wookieepedia. Here's the article on the Mon Cal race. They had a very advanced civilization, particularly via their advanced technology, and entered into the Galactic Republic sometime after 4166 BBY.

Yep, that's exactly what he is. He was almost entirely green from the armour before I painted, too.
