First off, Thank you both for the kind words. Seeing how DMILLER is the highest rated player in the game that is quite a compliment!

Second off, I don't really know much about vassel, so your all welcome to upload any of my maps. IN FACT I ENCOURAGE IT!

Say um I don't know you want to use these maps in real life, is there a place to buy them, or are they going to be a huge printer mess?

Been using your maps from CafePress, JediC, and actually our LGS tourneys (non-DCI) use them as well. Excellent maps, imho. Nice work.

We've used all four you have up on Cafe Press, actually. I think the most popular has been the Dxun map... probably mostly because of the open killing ground in the middle combined with the hallways of death around them :) I actually won my toughest match on that map... I was using a stealthskiff squad with mostly shooters (no cheezy gran swarms) and had to go up against pretty much the tourney-winner from Gencon (Boba BH, JWMs, Lobot, R2Doom, etc).

Anyway, keep making them, you're making great balanced maps... something we need more of :)

Hi. We used zazzle.com to upload the maps that we have bought. We currently have:
Darthmoose's Echo base,
Smuggler's Base map,
Jedi Temple (looks JUST like Battlefront2).

And we're getting:
Salvage yard,
Death Star,
and Dantooine Settlement.

We really like them, and they're about $20 per map. Thanks for making them!! :D

Big Updates in the world of Custom Maps

It looks like the Utapau Mapping Project is on hiatus, to borrow the phrase “Developmental Hellâ€￾. I blame the projects failings on 2 things. Too Many cooks, And too grand a vision. The map will get some day, but not in the original grandiosity that the team originally envisioned. And sorry to say but when the group reforms, It will be smaller and a little more, dare I say “Exclusiveâ€￾.

So what has come out of this project? Well I have to say I formed a real bond with a few of the map makers, and I look forward to stealing some of their work in the near future. Also my piece of the map, which was the least accurate of all the maps has turned into its own unique map with some real awesome potential. Right now the tentative title of the map is “Outer Rim Spaceportâ€￾ I think it’s a simple fun floor plan, and its not too bad on the eyes. It being a generic location, has proven very, very liberating because I haven’t been stifled by canonical accuracy. Well, my maps have never been too accurate.
Expect this map in the next few weeks.

Before I got caught up in Utapau dreams, I had a few projects that I was working on, as of right now Taris Upper level is still on the oven, It’s about 30 percent complete. I’m having some issues finding the perfect terrain for it. Something similar to the Bespin maps but a little more metallic. But that should be out sometime in the fall. My never ending KOTOR locations is always inprogress, so lookout for many more maps to come. If its in one of those 2 games it’ll be a map.

Lastly the poll I’ve been running is a continuous thing and It serves as a meter for what kind of maps the public want. While it isn’t the end all say all determination of what maps are in the works it does weigh heavily. Looks like Kashyyk Treetop city is in the lead.

Well, Ladyhothie and I are planning on running a scenario day here in Des Moines soon with the custom maps. We want to do a "New Republic/Vong" war on the Dantooine settlement map, as well as an Anakin, Jedi Hunter vs Jedi on the Battlefront 2 Jedi Temple map, and an Escape from Echo Base scenario on Darthmoose's Echo Base map. 3 custom maps, 3 scenarios that people can play.

As far as the Dantooine Settlement, here are some ideas we're tossing around:
300 point armies (we want to keep scenarios to 1.5 hours or less so people can play all 3 in 1 day if they want.)
New Republic start inside the buildings. Vong start at the gate. Possibly Nom Anor and 2 twilek bodyguards (Peace Brigade) start with the New Republic (ooglith masked) and can attack (and therefore be attacked) or run unimpeded to the Vong before attacking.
If a non-Unique NR character rolls a 1, it is "captured" (immediately placed at the gate and cannot be attacked or activated until a NR character is adjacent to it.)
Custom stats for Jacen and Luke, and a custom Anakin. "Vong Sense" for Jacen and Anakin, among others.

That sounds Awesome! the vong scenario was somethin I actually had in mind when I made the map(dark Tide 1)

You should wait until the Dantooine plains map is released, and connect it to the settlement, it might make things a bit more "EPIC".

I sent it to NickName sunday night. so I expect it to be available for download in the next day or so.

Thanks for using it! Stay tuned for my next map. "Outer Rim Spaceport". I'm going to be smug and say the next map is going to put me right next to the well known map makers.

Thanks! I'm very proud of this map. I've played a few games on it, and the game seems to move naturally to the center of the map.

The gambit area is reasonably protected, and it takes to players about the same time to reach gambit area.

Honestly though I really thought it was more of a scenario map.

Unfortunetly Utapau is on Hiatus right now, and the team is working on something a little different. I sincerely hop however you come check out what were doing. I believe its going to be very important to the game. Outside of the Iron clutch of the DCI of course!
