In a galaxy far, far away.......

STAR WARS
Assault on Bunker 9

As the Clone Wars rages on, so does the race to secure the resources needed for victory. In an daring covert attack, Separatist forces infiltrated the planet Kamino and kidnapped a number of scientists from Tipoca City.

Fearing that the Separatists will begin work on a clone army, the Jedi Council quickly begins tracking down the assailants. Clone Intelligence learns that the kidnapped Kamino scientists were taken to a secure secluded base on the planet of Rodia.

In an attempt to avoid an galactic incident with the Rodians, the Jedi Council decides to launch a small covert squad to reclaim the hostages and destroy any clone technology found. . . .

Assault on Bunker 9 is a 8th level adventure set during the Clone Wars and is designed for a large party of 8 to 12 players with 1-2 GMs. This special RPG session will be held at ACME Games during their December All-Nighter on the 19th. I expect the adventure to last about 5-6 hours (not counting any uncontrollable beverage-derived banter).

Characters are Republic operatives assigned to 2 squads that will infiltrate the Separatist bunker and free the hostages. Ideally, each 4-6 player squad should consist of 1-2 Jedi, and at least one clone trooper (if not the remainder of the squad). It is not uncommon though that the Republic would use a civilian specialist if the troopers assigned to the squad lacked the skills required. Character generation is listed below.

* Characters are created using a 28 point Stat Planned Generation method as described on pg18 of the Saga Core Rulebook.

* Hit Points are determined as follows - 1st level (Max), all additional levels:

d6 (Nobel, Scoundrel) - 4 + Con mod.
d8 (Scout) - 5 + CON mod.
d10 (Jedi, Soldier) - 7 + CON mod.
d12 (Elite Soldier)- 9 + CON mod.

* You may not choose a Race that was not common/known during the era (ie. Ewok or Yuuzhan Vong to name 2)

* Clone characters should have at least 1 level of Soldier. You may specialize the clone with the other levels. Arc Troopers will be accepted. Clone Commandos will only be accepted if 4 of you wish to play a squad.

* You may not play a dark side force user as the Republic didn't use them (and yes, I've heard all of the conspiracy theories on how Palpatine covertly hid dark side force user all through-out the Republic forces).

* As this is a military operation, equipment will be issued by Republic forces (your GM). I will entertain requests for specific types of equipment, but you all should know me well enough to know what will be issued and what won't.

* Once your character is created, please send me your character sheet for approval including any equipment requests. I will add your additional equipment and send your sheet back to you.

Talk it over with everyone and hash out your characters among each other. If you did not figure it out from the teaser above, you are part of 2 commando/special forces squads designed for infiltration and extraction. You will want to ensure that the each squad have the proper skill sets needed for such an operation. If you have any questions, let me know.

I replied to the email Bryan sent out, but figured I would post here too.

I'm most interested in doing an ARC Trooper or a Republic Commando. So, if other people want to form a Commando squad, I'm down for it! :D

Need to clarify a couple things...

1) All non-Jedi characters should have at least one-level of Soldier. (You are part of a military operation)

2) Destinies do not need to be select as this is a short, 1-session adventure. You may however, have 1 Destiny Point for your character to utilize.

3) Characters may start the adventure with their full allotment of Force Points.

Well, outside of the Miniatures piece, there really aren't many ARC Snipers in SW Fiction. Not to say that isn't doable.

I put together a Republic Commando Sniper (like Sev) already, but I'm also kicking around an RC leader (like Boss) idea as well, so I'm down for either of those.

And it also occurred to me, that I would probably really enjoy playing a Barabel Jedi if we end up having too many people who want to play clones.

Lackey, would you be opposed to somebody playing a Mando Training Sergeant, a la Kal Skirata? Could build as an older, semi-wizened character. Maybe not as quick on his feet, but definitely quick in the head.

@ Bane77....remind me who you are again? This is going to be a local event at ACME games here in Cincy...so...yeah, can't remember if you're one of our local guys or not, haha. EDIT: Nevermind. Forgot that this was Brandon's screenname. :)

Bryan, I guess if this goes well enough, maybe some guys online would want to do a PbP? ;)

I would be open to a Mando Training Sergeant, but I would want to limit that type of character archetype to one across both squads. I envision those types of characters as higher level characters and not at the same level as the clone troopers that they trained.

As for a PBP, we will have to see as I really do not have much time to dedicate to that at the moment. If the adventure performs well what I would like to do is publish it here for others to run if they wish.

Well, I wasn't thinking it would have to be a higher level character. Could build a human character, but then use the aging attributes at the beginning of the core rulebook to put them in the 60ish age range. Less Str/Dex, more Int/Wis, or something like that. Have a character that's more about the training and leading aspect, and not so much a straight up fighter. Obviously, could still have some skill with a blaster, but ultimately, probably more of a Noble type build. Or a Soldier/Officer.

I wouldn't mind playing a clone either. Just need to know what squad I will be assigned to and what skill set is needed.

The only "beverage derived banter" from my group was Lobo being a little hyper after drinking a huge energy drink, lol.

The thing went great, there were a total of 11 of us split into 2 groups: 1 each of the Republic Commando Boss, Fixer, Scorch, and Sev type characters and a Jedi with the other group also getting an ARC Sniper. So we were split into a group with each of us having a goal to accomplish. It was tough on Lackey because he had a huge pile of Init cards in his hands compiled from everyone and he had to keep going back and forth between groups. We actually didn't get to finish the game, we called it quits at 4am (having started around 9:30).
