Please stop using the PM system to broadcast and carry on conversations about the GVL. Either that or remove me from that list, I do not want 15-20 pms filling my box of a conversation about GVL rules. Start a forum thread and point people there. Pms should not be used in this way.

I would say that if there's an important announcement that Fool feels should go to the entire GVL and wants to make sure everyone notices it, then a single PM might be OK. Just put a statement below it that says "if you have questions or want to discuss this, please start a thread in the GVL section regarding it" or something to that effect. I understand the point of the original PM that Ruhk sent in this case, but I also agree that the rampant responses to everyone on the distribution list was a bit much.

On the other hand, you only have to open one of those PMs to see the whole thread of messages. If you scroll down in PM, it will show you all the messages associated with that one, so you don't have to open every single PM individually, and then you can delete as necessary.

Probably the best solution is for the announcement to be posted and then Fool or whoever can send a PM out to the people he thinks need to be aware of it.

Responses to the announcement should be limited to the post in which the announcement is made, or directly to the person who sent the PM. I do agree it was a little out of hand.

It certainly wasn't necessary to duplicate this post in a PM.

wow and lol man, out of the 18 pms i have, 14 of them are from that whole thing 3 of them were the gvl pms and I also sent out 3 of them so i can see how if you haven't checked this site in a while it can seem quite a bit overwhelming but like Ruhk was saying all you have to do is open the last pm and delete the rest if you want. but i can say for certainty that out of all the forums i've been on that was the biggest group of group pms i guess.

I agree with Lobo, Fool PM use all the important information (The info he think could be is important for GVL cause he is the main organiser as far as i know) so theres no prob with that, the prob that people is complaining is about using the System to discuss about the info Fool send us, but most important thing is that users immediatly reply the PM cause is the immediate way to complain/agree about topics, and dont take time to add a new topic on GVL to discuss that, so the prob is not the system, are the users that prefer to discuss there, so if people to complain about it, then better ask em to add topics on GVL and not in the PM inbox :D

In the other hand i dont have troubles to c 20-30-40.....1000 messages in my inbox, cause i just read the last mesage and erase the others, and that take me like 5 mins or less so i dont c the problem :D but well, people have exposed solutions to these, so now its up to players to do it that way :D

Cya on tables guys¡¡¡

Everyone, I know some of you think it's funny, but seriously, stop abusing the PM system. I do not want your PMs and I consider them to be harassment. I did not sign up for a group broadcast, nor did I ok my pm box to be used as such. Normally, using someone's email on the internet in this way with out their permission is illegal, so I will ask that the GVL also follow this policy. I did not sign up for anything, and I do not want further communication. I didn't think it needed to be said again, but apparently I was wrong.

I am also requesting that I be immediately removed from the GVL group.

Edit - NVM, figured out how to take myself off it.

I suggest in the future, these groups not be created without expressed written permission of every participant.

Sadly, it is definitely a detriment to GVL.

At this point I must also resign from the GVL.

ok this has become ridiculous.

I keep getting pm's that have nothing to do with anything. I did not set up the team pm system for the gvl to be abused so someone could ask a question that has been answered in threads.

This practice will stop immediatly. It is not funny or cute.

if you dont know how to work the mass pm system then by all means stop using it.

Bill and Dennis I will take you two out of the gvl loop.

JC, you got the PMs initially because empirejeff sent it out to ALL of the groups on the site, not just the GVL ones, so that included the moderator staff.
