Mon Calamari Medic

Faction: Rebel
Cost: 8
Set #: 17/60
Rarity: Common

Hit Points: 10
Defense: 12
Attack: +0
Damage: 10

Special Abilities:
Heal 10 - Replaces attacks: remove 10 damage from a living character.
Melee Attack

Mon Calamari Medic Strategy Tips
Rolling in at one-eleventh the cost of the strongest fig in the set, the Mon Calamari Medic is a walking band-aid. With an attack that's about as fierce as tearing a band-aid off *owtch!* this fig won't put the hurt on anybody but can keep your other figs alive, open doors and chip in for the post-fight pizza. Mmm... pizza...

Image
Uggernaut
Faction: Fringe
Set #: 58/60
Rarity: Rare

Cost: 34

Hit Points: 100
Defense: 16
Attack: +6
Damage: 20

Special Abilities:
Ugnaught
Furious Assault - Replaces turn. Can move up to 12 squares, then attack each legal target once.
Mounted Weapon - Only allies with Mounted Weapon or adjacent allies with Gunner can combine fire with this character.
Rigid - Can't squeeze.
Twin Attack - Whenever this character attacks, it makes 1 extra attack against the same target.

Uggernaut Strategy Tips
This beast is a great clanking heap of chaotic fun. It's easy to hit and can't take much damage but if you get a chance to run it up to a cluster of your opponent's troops and press the big red death blossom button, things get messy. It really needs someone with Force Sense to negate cover and maybe some figs to help Combine Fire, but it can make a total mess with a few lucky rolls. Just make sure to get it some cover before your opponent turns it into scrap.

Edit (Fool) Clean-up

Correct me if I am wrong, my math skills are a bit rusty, but does the intro of the Mon Cal give us the hint that there is an 88 point piece in this set? Holy crap, who will it be?

Okay, they don't always have the best way of describing characters, because Force Sense can't really help the Uggernaut that much, but did you read that, "Rolling in at one-eleventh the cost of the strongest fig in the set, the Mon Calamari Medic is a walking band-aid."
If that is true, someone has a cost of 88! Revan, anyone? If this is true . . . wow . . .

Revan is the best bet.

It's either Revan or Han Solo in Carbonite. :)

Wouldn't surprise me. Although 8 points is 84 (Exar Kun's cost) divided by 10.5, so that's close to 1/11th. Not very impressed by either of these. The Medic is basically a new version of the Polis Massa (though admittedly a bit better). The cool thing though is that they gave it 10 base damage, which means it can be used for Combining Fire, and bonuses with the Rebel Leader. So, for double the points, you basically get a Mon Cal Tech Specialist that can now combine fire or heal. Kind of seems like a filler/RPG piece to me, but nonetheless, at least it's not a reprint!

Uggernaut....I have to say, i'm really disappointed by this one. I'm glad now that it's a Rare, because at this point I really don't care if I pull it. With a +6 attack and Mounted Weapon you'll be lucky to ever hit anything at all with Furious Assault, with or without Force Sense, lol. I guess with Veers it could get Accurate easier than Han ST, but you've still got a huge hurdle to cover with that attack value. A Huge character with Furious kind of gives some cool options since you might be able to get more shots in based on placement. I guess perhaps if the Ugnaught Boss can give it Self-Destruct, it might end up being a bit more fun. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Meh on these guys.

88 points?... Revan. Though If it's Obi-Wan Kenobi Unleashed, I'ma gonna laugh my head off.

Hopefully it's Revan so we can see him next week.

Mon Cal medic has Melee Attack.

I didn't like the Polis Massa Medic, and I don't like it's souped up version.
The Uggernaught looks cool, but with a measly +6 Attack, it won't hit much, and what it can hit will die with the first attack, so Twin won't help much either.

One other possibility for the 88 pointer = Luke with Yoda, though I think it's much more likely to be Revan.

Mon Cal medic has Melee Attack.

Doh! You're right, I completely missed the Melee Attack listed there. OK, well, both of those previews officially suck then. :P

Fool, I just may take back my Great Minds quote. LOL =)

Edit: Okay, since you answered my rules question, you can keep your Great Mind. =)

Don't feel so bad. I completely missed the fact that Immediate Reserves was only for Non-Unique Droids.

They just both suck. I'm not impressed by the medic. The uggernaught will be fun to feild with Thrawn. UG swapping anyone? But beyond that, the uggernaught is worse than the goofy bird.

You'll have to swap with a Huge.

It may not perhaps be the best piece ever, but I love the Uggernaut! It is kind of expensive, but can you imagine the perfect opportunity to use it and take out a swarm. And I think Veers could be a great figure to go with him. Bigger than Han STA, little less attack, but twin. I will have fun with it, no matter what.

BARC maybe?

Pairing with Thrawn and Veers might be a little alright.

Maybe.

Yeah...just what I wanna do....run up for 20 damage with a +4 attack, lol. Only to get wasted because of my 12 defense and 10 hp next round, hahaha.

Uggernaut swapping should be funny. Might be able to make something decent out of swapping with a Goofbird.

Wait...wait...wait.....NM....Rigid and no flight, so good luck maneuvering very much on most maps.

I want to use a Thrawn/Veers/STC/Uggernaught army badly now.
