:D :D :D
Congrats Dennis!

I told my son about this. He was quite tickled as he recalls beating "the creator" and taking 1st place in DD at Egyptian Campaign in 2008
I did not beat the creator... :P

Agreed. This was very cool, and well deserved.

I tried a while back to get a few of these game types into semi-official form on the Web site but the proposal went no where with all their budget and Web issues. It's great to see it happen through the Floor Rules. Next step--Tile Wars! :)

Yes!!!!!

I knew you liked the format with your general "more action, less stalling" stance. ;)

I agree. The biggest obstacle with Tile Wars is figuring out how to make all the additional rules easy to understand and concise, as we are already have problems with the very limited rules of DD.... But otherwise, I see no reason why January 2010 can't add Tiles :)

Geeez guys I dont think you are reading carefully. I dont think we can add Tile Wars because there is not enough webspace on Wizards for Darth Variable to gripe about it.

Actually you're probably right Bill. I've made an effort to try and prevent any loopholes to the kill 'em all philosophy of TILE WARS. But of course, this means it's not as simple (to understand the rules - not to master) and straightforward as Dynamic Duo.

I did post TILE WARS here on Gamers now too. If you have any suggestions on how to make the wording more concise - let's talk about it on that thread. I am all ears. :)

Let's keep this thread for the congrats that Dennis deserves!

Congrats Dennis - Our group loves the format. I just hope that I can convert them into liking it as a DCI event as opposed to casual.

I also worry that another obstacle is that only "old timers" have products with actual tiles.

When I proposed it for the Web I was going to include some downloadable simple tiles that mimicked the popular layouts on the official ones to get around this. That's a barrier to a Floor Rules solution. Given we now have the Elite driver precident for a link to download content perhaps we could do something similar for the times along the lines of my original plan.

I responded to this on the TILE WARS thread, here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7032
(Let's not hijack Dennis's thread)
