Just wondering if Teth Courtyard was legal at 150.

No, it is not. We have to wait til the next DCI Floor Rules update for this map to be added as legal (if it so chooses to be).

So why isn't the Teth Courtyard going to be legal? I am honestly perplexed by this as the only arguments I have read about the map is that it isn't going to be fun playing on it. That game play will be stale and predictable. Because honestly, if that is the only reasoning behind barring it, that is a poor decision. Maybe I am missing something, but I don't see anything making this a broken map....

Kneeknocker says:
well first of all the layout of the map is crap. the map isnt balanced. one side has a door can get locked in the other has cover all over the place. unless you have stealth,ss or cloaked you will get shot to death. Lackey did you really have to ask why it wont be legal. :D really i am really

Oh, yeah. Sarcasm radiates from Lackey's post!

No, actually, we've had this discussion a couple times since the map came out. He's not being sarcastic. And the more I look at the map, the more I tend to agree with him.

The map IS fairly balanced. Nobody's going to get locked in one side of the map any more than they'll get locked in the Rancor pen or any other map with doors. Anybody playing DCI should know better than to play without some form of door control.

If the Stealth/Cloaked/etc. problem is what you're worried about it, then the map roll/setup rules cover that pretty well and keep it from being too big of a problem (player with Cloaked squad wins map and picks Teth, but he'll end up having to set up on the door side).

Yes, it's a boring map. If it is legal, then people will play it a few times, then put it away because they're bored with it. But I don't see the "balance" issues as any more limiting than any of the other maps we have.
