The idea is you roll up a character using the Saga Edition RPG rules (I can help anyone who wants to play but doesn't have a book.)

I will be the gamemaster for the game, and players take turns telling me what they're doing from scene to scene. I then roll dice to determine skill checks and attacks, and post results as they happen during the encounter.

If you've never played an RPG online in this way before, it really is a lot of fun.

So, any takers?

We'll see how many people we get and run from there.

time permitting I would be interested in playing such a game. I usually wind up having to run everything locally and it would be nice to be in the players seat for once.

I would probably be interested! I've done a little bit of playing the SW RPG back in college (so, like 3 or 4 years ago now) but we really didn't go too far with it. Playing by post seems like it would be fun. Sure, give it a try! Would give us something to do after Gencon, lol.

LOL

After sitting in on the seminar on Friday, I find myself at least a little more interested in the RPG. I may have to break it out some evening and see if my wife wants to play at all. But I'm certainly interested in something we could simply run on the forums here.

I admit I forgot about posting this, lol. Great to see so many responses, and thanks Dean, for reminding me.

What era do you guys want to play in? We'll decide on that first and then go from there (character design, etc.)

I'm fine with either clone wars or galactic civil war.

Any era is cool with me. Might be cool to do something in the Clone Wars or Rise of the Empire era though since that's what the upcoming game and cartoon TV show will be based around.

Once the site officially launches, we will get this rolling.

I would love to join in. I might need a bit of a hand with the character as I've never tried the RPG playing with the actual RPG rules.

I actually do an online RPG mission with friends of mine. I help run everyone else's, and one of my other friends is the GM for my mission. We just started them out as individual missions and we use the mini's stats for any fighting if it arises. It's hard to explain but we somehow make it work, so it's fun...

All right, so we are a go. The game takes place about two weeks before the start of the Clone Wars. Let's start working on character concepts over this week, and try to be ready for the first game post by Sept. 24, and no later than Oct. 1.

OK, so do we need to dig out our Saga RPG books and build our characters? I've only done SWRPG one other time, and that was like 4 years ago, so I remember pretty much nothing, lol.

Yes, if you have the book please use it and then PM your character's stats for my review. Level 1 characters, please.

For those of you who don't have the book and want to play PM me your concept and I will help you design your character.

BTW, are there any restrictions? (no jedi, no darkside characters, no blahblahblahs...) Just wondering... cause I'd love to play a jedi that tries to walk the line between light and dark...
