The official custom Dantooine scenario is on the custom scenario thread, for those who wish to peruse it.

New republic outpost is 90 percent finished, I'm just adding some details.
I expect it to be completed this weekend and released this weekend.

I'm going to start picking these maps up since this gap in new figs has been so long. Should I start with Jabba's throne room?

I don't make maps, so my opinion is strictly consumer-based. I would ask what do you want to use them for? For general playability, my personal favorite is Armoredgear's Smuggler's base map. If you want to run scenarios/missions, i would say get whatever fits those scenarios. There are a lot of custom maps out there (by some very talented mapmakers, JC ;). Take a look at what YOU like and get that. We went through zazzle.com. You pay a little more, but you get a discount for multiple maps which makes up for that, and they were sent to us complete in a tube.

Ultimatley, no matter what I do or how much my maps improve I will always be in the shadows of AG7 and Cpreksta. in my opinion here are the Marqee maps you want.

1 Nar Shadaa form AG7
2. Hoth Base From Cpreksta
3. NEw Republic Outpost from me.

These are the best maps from these particular artists in my opinion.

Most of you reading this probably just got done reading my rants on the "No longer member of WOTC forums" thread . Happily, this is completely unrelated.

I just want to give a small update on plans, productions and releases.

I already made my "official anouncement" about production on Theed beggining last night. I also have completed pre-production of anothe Knights of the Old Republic Location. This one is "Ahto City, Manaan" . I spent a little time last night putting together floor tiles and collecting colors for my palletes.

I am cancelling my tutorial, mostly because of time managment. But also Cpreksta and AG7 still hold the gold standard for basic tutorials, theres no need to add to them.

Now for a big one, RHEN VAR. After the success I had with the Dantooine Series, I thought I'd do a follow up battle map series. This planet, I'm working on is not one of the well known worlds of the Saga, but it is featured in comic books, battlefronts 1, andThe Clone Wars Vidio game. I've been toying With doing RHEN VAR for a while now, but couldn't decide how I wanted to do it.

So Heres how its going to go. It will be simalar to the Dantooine Series in the aspect it's going to be 2 Standard Skirmish maps connected By An ATAT Friendly battlefield. The big difference will be in the playability of the battlefield. The Battlefield(Rhen Var harbor, will have Structures on the Fringes of the maps giving smaller pieces a tactial edge against an AT AT.

The other 2 maps in the series will be the Cave Systems(Ulics Tomb) and The Rhen Var Citadel. Both of these will be Standard Skirmish, Rigid huge Friendly Maps. Finally getting a little use out of all those Hoth Troopers, and Snow Troopers!!

Don't hold your breath for these though, I'mm only in the resarch phase and floor plan phase, and with 2 more maps already in the works, this series won't be relaesed until at least the End of winter.

I am also currently taking suggestions, for maps, tiles, and objects. If I can't make it, I'll find it!!

Thanks to SWMgamers.com for the overwhelming support!!

Very Respectfully,

Matt "JC" Francella

SNEAK PREVIEW!!!!!

Heres a look at the [/b]Exclusive SWMGAMERS memebers only map currently under construction.

This is going to be a section of Theed as featured in Episode 1. Because much of what I'm working on is not really seen in film, I had to use my imagination a bit.

The floors are supposed to match the uniforms of the Naboo soldiers a little bit.

This is a going to be a some sort of control room, similar to what was seen in the climax of episode 1, just on a much smaller scale, perhaps a power regulation chamber.

Remember, the ONLY way to get this map is by private message or by posting in this thread. and the only way to do that is to be a member of SWMGamers.com!!

Quick question--in the first pic, where is the building shown on the map? (just a general idea--is in towards one of the sides or in the middle.) I love maps with a enclosed space in the middle, lends itself to craziness going for gambit. :)

The builing in the first pic is indeed dead center, but at the top. The bottom of the pic leads into the "gambit chamber" that you describe. Gambit on this map is basically a 4 room wall with a dorr on each wall.

I'm really looking forward to the Manaan map. I was going to try and eventually tackle that myself, but I got all the faith in you as well. Looks like both of us got a tiny spot for KotOR in our hearts...lol

Keep up the good work.
