Can't say I am impressed. My SC's will still be my mid-range shooter pick for Imps.

If this were fringe though, Nom would have a new pal!

He would be an awesome Fringe piece (perfect for Jabba, Crime Lord). Though Careful Shot +6 has me the most excited. I wondered when they were going to be messing with the numbers.

Nice offensive abilities, but a low Defense with 40 HP means he's going to get picked off quite quickly, so that's a big gamble of 21pts. Can't wait to see the mini though.

40 HP isn't too bad for a 21 pt Accurate Shooter that is non-unique. His biggest draw back is that being in the Imperial faction, he isn't a trooper.

Zuckuss is only 40 HP at 22 points. Same defense too. So, for a non-unique with Accurate. A possible +13 attack (better than Zuckuss there!) is not too bad at all. Kind of interesting that both non-unique Gotals we have now have some sort of special ability pertaining to critical hits. Soon as somebody finds a picture, send it on! :D

Actually....maybe my LGS will have ours tonight. ;)

Actually, I'm most happy about the fact that we actually got a preview promo. They didn't do any like this for A&E, and it was really disappointing. Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Am I missing Stealth? Worst assassin ever!

Also being Imperial is NEVER a detriment!!

you know: from a feeling-good-about-yourself point-of-view and all...

To me, the biggest drawback is that on the Imperial Faction, there are better mid costed guns, and the figure just does not fit with what Imp squads do.

Besides the fact that Imperials were notoriously human biased. Not that there weren't some alien species working for them here and there though I guess.

LOL @ Menoth's Fire. He is a lousy assassin. :P

Well, it's not like the pre-release promos have ever been anything to write home about. That said, this is 1 piece out of 60. Sure, if this piece had been in A&E everything being said would be true. But it's not in an existing set. It's part of the balance of an entirely new set. There is no way for the majority of us to know how the piece is going to be utilized. What if we have this:

Gotal Crimeboss 33 pts.
50 HP
16 Defense
+6 Attack
10 Damage

Special Abilities
Careful Shot +6
Sidestep (At the end of this character's turn, if it hasn't moved this turn, it may move 2 squares.)
Deadeye

Commander Effect: Assassins allies gain Sidestep and Double Attack (instead of moving, this character may make 1 additional attack on its turn).

I think in the end it is way too expensive to see much play. It is too fragile to stand still and if it moves it doesnt get its bonuses. If it were cheaper then maybe (GIA, not your stats boris). But then again being part of the imperial faction, im not too upset about it. :)

Yeah, it's pretty weak for the points - but then again, so was the Twi'lek Rebel Agent. Maybe it's a low-level hordeling from the video game, I think they deliberately make those non-competitive - like the Darktrooper Phase 1. At least this one can benefit from some CE's.

Haha, that would be sweet, Boris. I like that "Sidestep" ability. Would make for some cool door control too (which the Imp faction could use). I figure the GIA would make a good combination with Thrawn as a piece to use early in the game before you start swapping the beatstick into position. The decent attack (+16 w/ Thrawn and Careful!) makes it a great piece for wiping out scrub pieces early in the game. Granted, the damage potential of the Storm Commando is a LOT more, but the increased attack combined with the Accurate Shot makes the 4 pt difference worth it, IMO.

Maybe if he gets Rapport with someone and someone with Imperial Reserves then he would be good to bring into your squad. I will have to play him to see what I think, but it's that 21pts that stands out, I'd rather have Lando DS for 18 or pay the extra 2 for Jeriko.

The only real reason I know most of the figs is that I review every single one of them each set.

I think they are just in the wrong faction. Imperials don't need this mid costed gun. OR on the other hand... or some other choice factions, this would be a better fit.

If you are going to waste points on Imp CE's (like people mentioning Thrawn or this commander or that imp guy), then you want something more then 1-2 of these guys.
