What is the difference between being able to use Momentum with Strafe, and not being able to use Momentum with Mobile?

I know Momentum works with Strafe, because the Mando War Droid almost needs it to help it out. With that in mind I had built a squad with Durge and Hellions on Swoops, where they would be able to Mobile attack and get momentum, but was told that Mobile doesn't work with Momentum.

Is there a reason for this difference, or was I told incorrectly?

It works. The ONLY restrictions on Momentum are that you have moved the character this turn, and that the target is adjacent. You can hit with the swoop with the momentum, and then continue afterwards.

That's what I thought.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Actually, the reason the Durge/Mobile combo doesn't work has nothing to do with Momentum. Durge's CE states "Non-unique followers who END THEIR MOVE within 6 gain Momentum". So, you can't move after the attack if you wish to benefit from Momentum.

in that light wouldn't it be legal to utilize it as long as you meet the qualifications. Thus you move the bike in tag the opponent and remain w/in 6 of Durge to end in his area?

Or....you end your move w/in 6 of Durge "gain momentum". Next turn (haven't lost it yet) you attack w/mobile and remain w/in 6 to keep it.

Thoughts?

Well there is definately some grey here. I would have to agree with Sithborg that you have to "END" your move to fulfill the momentum requirements in Durge's CE. Technically you have to announce mobile as an ability before you attack though you aren't forced to then move after you attack. So announcing mobile and then attacking would negate the use of Momentum from Durge.
