People seemed to like the idea of trying to use seldom used figs in squads. So this is in response to that.

It's essentially an exercise in creativity to improve your prowess as a squad-builder and get you thinking of different squad combinations than you probably do normally.

First challenge is Biggs Darklighter.

Try to come up with a 100 point squad that could take on Bane and 6 Ugnaughts. A 150 point squad that could take on Black and Blue (LV or JH). And a 200 point squad that could be decent at a tournament.

Here are mine:

-100 points vs. Bane & 6 Ugnaughts-
Chewbacca, Enraged Wookiee (34)
Biggs Darklighter (26)
Rebel Leader (18)
Mon Calamari Tech Specialist x4 (16)
Ugnaught Demolitionist x2 (6)
(100 pts. - 9 activations)

Chewie can tie up Bane and can actually hit thanks to the boosted combined fire from the Mon Cals (possibly with Spotter, but not necessary). Biggs can sit back and Double Attack Bane. Use the extra Mon Cals and the Rebel Leader to clear the Ugnaughts between Biggs and Bane so he's actually hurting Bane.

-150 points vs. Black & Blue-
Chewbacca, Rebel Hero (30)
Han Solo, Rogue (30)
Biggs Darklighter (26)
Admiral Ackbar (21)
Princess Leia (20)
C-3PO & R2-D2 (18)
Ugnaught Demolitionist (3)
(148 pts. 7 activations)

Han Rogue and R2PO are obvious additions to combat Thrawn. Chewie makes sure the Disruptive bubble stays around for a long time. Ackbar helps win initiative and makes sure Han is always +11 Attack. Leia helps with damage output from Han or Chewie. This team needs to stay away from Vader as long as possible. Hopefully you'll play on a map with an open gambit area. If Biggs, Chewie, and Han can chip away at Vader enough, they might scrape out a victory.

-200 pts. Tournament Quality-
Luke's Landspeeder (47)
Han Solo, Rebel Hero (35)
Chewbacca with C-3PO (31)
Lobot (27)
Biggs Darklighter (26)
Princess Leia (20)
R2-D2 (8)
Ugnaught Demolitionist x2 (6)
(200 pts. - 9-15 activations)

Landspeeder, Han Rebel Hero, and Leia is a proven combination at 150. This 200 point squad adds 2 Double Attacking shooters. Chewie's Draw Fire helps protect Biggs' miniscule HP from Accurate shooters. Also double door control and plenty of activations.

Please take the challenge and post your squads! Also cast your vote for the next figure for Outside the Box #2.

I'd be interested in seeing the make up of that "Rebel Flyboys" squad.

As far as the figure for the next Outside the Box challenge, it doesn't matter about Unique or non-Unique (for instance, Dark Side Marauder could be interesting), but probably the fig should cost more than 6 points like an Ithorian Scout.

You could squeeze 6 points into just about any pre-existing squad. The idea behind this is to come up with new squad combinations by considering characters you might generally overlook.

I've used Biggs before, but I'd never thought of using Chewbacca with C-3PO in a squad until I was trying to come up with a 200 point squad with Biggs. It was a cool moment of inspiration that I think will make me a better squad builder...maybe.

DESPERADO! It was a Biggs squad I made in the summer that nobody seemed to notice! Here are the links

I love this squad and it packs quite a whollop. Nice thread idea Shinja, this is my little contribution.

I do like Biggs Darklighter. He has a solid Attack and can deal out 40 damage at +16 attack, which is nothing to be sniffed at IMHO.

If i knew I was up against Bane I'd always include Jango Fett, Bounty Hunter. I wiped out Bane in no time recently using Jango.

100 pts vs Bane
Jango Fett, Bounty Hunter 56
Biggs Darklighter 26
Garindan 12
Duros Mercenary 6

Tactics: keep as far away as possible. Move Garindan close and hope for Initiative to get off Spotter and Double Attacks.

I'll look at the others later.
