Evade and bodyguard

Can I Evade an attack and if the evade fails then can i bodyguard the damage. I know u cant shield the damage then bodyguard it. Please let me know.

This is one that always confused me as well, and it has to do with the timing of when the damage is assessed. So yes, you can attempt to Evade first, and then Bodyguard if the Evade fails.
