I really want to like Fel in 100pts, but i am not sure what way to take him. You can go straight BGs with 14 ewoks, but not sure that is such a good idea. My thought based around his BG is this:

Roan Fel
Jag
x2 wookiee commandos
Probe Droid
x2 ugs
99pts

I get two of the best hp/cost ratio figs in the game with the commandos and Jag plus recon. Shooters obviously are going to hurt and map choice would be crucial, but i would love to play this and pull the CG17 on Bane, Loda or Vader. I would think it would have a decent chance against the Jedi as he can take the hits and still survive to get the triple - hopefully. I wish i could get the Imp Knight boost but there isnt enough room.

Thoughts?

The +16 attack (w/ Opportunist) should be fine against Bane and Loda, and probably Lord Vader. Vader JH will give it a bit more grief, but you shouldn't be seeing him as often anymore. Jag and the Wooks should be able to handle ANY scrubs with relative ease, especially since Jag will almost always be attacking at a +12 w/ Gregarious.

The one thing I might watch out for is anyone running Imperial squads with a Sith Witch in there. Personally, that's still my favorite option with Lord Vader (LV, Witch, Probe, Ugo). The lightning could get frustrating very fast. Also, if Lord Vader wins initiative, he'll be able to make 4 attacks, and then use Force Leap to move away, denying your triple, and possibly stick something else in the way, denying you any attacks at all.

Definitely one to try out though.

Lord Vader should never be attacking Roan Fel without using Overwhelming Force to avoid the Block/Cortosis Gauntlet and Bodyguard. He's bad news for Roan.

Ooh, that's an even better point. I hadn't thought of that. Yeah, that would really cause Fel some headaches.

The nice thing with Bane and Vader JH is that they would still be able to do some damage to Fel even after they got hit by Cortosis Gauntlet, so all would not be lost. Heck, Bane can still do 30 damage per hit even after being smacked by Cortosis.

I don't know about how this works but could you spend the points for block in hopes of getting the Crotosis Gauntlet to go off?

You have to. The Gauntlets specifically says when you roll X or higher for the Lightsaber Block save.

It's good, but like you said, shooters are a pain. Loda and Lord Vader will never have to worry about lightsaber block, unless your opponent is an idiot. I like roan fel, but i'm not sure he has a real place in 100 yet. Mabe after KOTOR he will be better there. But good shot at it though. I haven't really seen anything better yet.

True, but Roan can out damage Loda hands down. Lord Vader would be a bit different, but at least Roan would still have his BGs to even things up a bit.

Overwhelming Force is what kills Roan; not only the Blocks, but you cannot BG.

Otherwise I like it. Wookiee Commando's are a good fit.

I'm not too sure about that. Loda with Princess Leia can do 90 damage per round, same as Roan Fel. Add the fact that Loda could run in from 8-12 squares out and still make all 4 of those attacks. To top it off, Loda has more HP to start with than Roan (about equal to Roan + Jag) and Stun will REALLLY ruin Roan Fel's day, not to mention Force Defense.

I think Fel would have a better shot against Loda than against Lord Vader, but it still seems like a tough matchup.

After i typed my reply i remembered stun. It would definately be a hard fought battle.

Lord Vader would waste me, but how well does he do in 100? I would think Lord Vader would get roasted by shooters even worse than Fel would.

I dunno. After LV came out, I went undefeated with him at 100 points for a while in my area. Other than Loda, what pieces have come out since Bounty Hunters that have changed the 100 point meta? L&Y can probably handle Lord Vader without too much trouble (not being able to use either Rage or Assault could hurt a lot) but I haven't really tested that idea much.

I would think a Boba, BH or probably a better example of Merc, could seriously trash lord Vader. I could be wrong. i dont get to play much 100 around here.

I've beat Boba BH, JWM, R2 with it. The key is partially in the backup pieces you use. I typically played it with a Sith Witch and a Probe Droid, and getting off the Witch's Lightning is key. Allows Vader to drop any of the Bobas with only 3 attacks, which since LV needs 6's to hit Boba, that puts you in a good spot.

Boba Merc may have a better shot, especially Boba Merc w/ Thrawn, but if you play offensively with Thrawn to keep Vader from using Assault or Rage, then Thrawn is going to die quick. Might be too late for Vader at that point though. I haven't played that match-up at all. The Dark Armor would be key in that match-up.
