On Leia Hoth Commander, when a character is defeated, is it Leia making the save or the character, in the event of wanting to re-roll the save?

The charater itself is making the save. You can only use Force Points for re-rolling if that character has Force Points available. Leia doesn't do anything except stand there. :P
