Yes Vader lacking Door is kinda big but the BG is good vs big "D"

I dunno in a couple of playtests Grip from sight is pretty big.

Pretty crucial on what your'e playing I guess.

Boba Fett BH can do basically the same thing every round though. Vader is not an every round grip guy. He also must stand still to get this off while Boba can mobile attack in and out.

I just don't see the squad out-performing the Boba BH builds out there in next to all situations.

I don't know about Vader, Palp, and the ugnaughts. An intereting idea, but if you can't use the force, say against thrawn, you're kinda screwed. And against Yuke, you'll also have a really hard time against.

I like the idea of 3 ugs with Vader/Palpy. I'll be trying out a Vader/Palpy squad in my next 100 point game and I was considering 3 Ugs instead of the BG. Also thinking about 2 Nobles or a Noble and an Ug, but I'll stick to my thought on 3Ugs vs the BG for this post.

I'm willing to play the odds that now that Boba BH has been out a while enough people are playing to counter him rather than playing him themself so that I'm not going to see him every other game I play. When I do face him its still only a 5% chance per shot he'll get the Disintigrate. Then there's the chance that with accurate shot the Boba player will just shoot the BG for his first activation and you're still stuck without a BG the rest of the game. On the other hand in 100 points I'm almost certain that any map I play on there will be some doors the Ugs can clear out of my way so Vader can make use of his force powers. So I'm weighing the very narrow chance of needing and being able to use the BG to block a Disintigration vs the almost certain use (and 2 extra activations) I'll get from the Ugs.

After much consideration, I think the top squads for this point level are as follows:

Han Cannon with various support ( usually leia, obi-wan, or obi-wan force ghost )

Boba BH

Bane and 6 uggos ( or with a twi'lek )

Shaak Ti, Qui-gon, r-2 and 3 uggos

mara jedi, a MTB, a bith black sun vigo, wicket, and a load of uggnaughts

Loda with a rauntaun or two, +4+10 leia, or han rogue

ewok swarm

boba, a jwm, and support

SAK

Force push squads with some form of force abuse ( force spirit or yoda of dagobah ) and push 4

san hill squads

nom bombs ( situational. only good when you have a desirable map for it. it needs a MTB for initative control, but it is a real risk to run one here. )

And others. This point level is really dominated by initative control and by huge melee beats, with a few exceptions. Whatever can deal out the most damage consistantly in a turn or two really makes the squad good. And to do this, you need initative, which is why initative control is crucial. This format really leaves no room for squad error or play error, because the figures are so few and usually if you loose one or two key peices you're done for.

Some of my thoughts.

I think the squad to beat at 100 is han solo storm trooper armor, ithorian comander, and AA's. I really dont see what can beat it.

Disruptive really hurts the damage output. AAs are still good without the Ithorian and Han's CEs, but R2-PO and/or Juno Eclipse make that matchup almost impossible.

Flamethrower, missles, lightsaber sweep, and lightsaber reposite can really kill swarm squads easily, in addition to disruptive. Most competative squads do have some kind of swarm control.

Won a 100 point tournament over the weekend using Loda, Princess Leia, and 3 ugnaughts. The ability to do 90 damage a turn from 12 squares away can't be overlooked, nevermind the ability to activate your opponent's figs with stun. Leia solves Loda's damage output problem all by herself. I think it's a legit squad in 100.

Thrawn, Boba Merc, Ugo. Use the force Bubble offensively. Boba does enough dmg to take out most figures quickly enough to win.

Yet very few of the competitive squads listed here have that kind of swarm control. Nor do they have disruptive, which is a tough fit in 100. Of the listed squads, Bane and the ewok swarm are the toughest matchups.

you can add repulse to the list too, lots of rebel squads will have some sort of repulse in the future, I bet.

I think this is still good:

Qui-Gon JM
Jedi Weapon Master x2
R2 Astromech
Ugnaught Demolitionist

It could probably stand some updating but I'm not sure what I would change about it.

Good squads, lots of good squads, but where are the Nom Bombs, and where is Hoth Pilot Unleashed. I have seen both of these be very effective in 100 point venue

Nom 34
Lobot 27 (61)
6x Gran 24 (85)
2x AA 14 (99)

Reinforcements:
Usually a BBSV.

34 Storm Commando x2
18 Moff Nyna Calixte
08 Wicket/Mas (Wicket works better in the new meta IMO)
03 Ugnaught Demolitionist x1

Doesn't look like much, but works pretty much like San Hill. This is a tough one for the B&B or SAK armies to take down without guaranteed init, no easy swapping, and two decent shooters.

I also like:

Dodonna
Boba BH
Han RH
Bothan Noble
Lobot

Haven't tried it out yet, but should work pretty much like the one above. This time, when you do win init, Boba gets 4 shots at 30 damage a pop!

And, for more fun with Dodonna:

Dodonna
Mara Jade Jedi
Boba BH
Lobot
Ugo x2

This is basically a direct copy of the popular San Hill builds into a NR format. Just sub Mara Jade Jedi in instead of Aurra JH and an Ugo, and sub Dodonna in for San.

Hey Lobo, this is a 100 point thread. :D

Silly Mandalorians.... ;)

<<Smacks self>>

My bad. Saw Boris' SS Imperial build, and was thinking it looked like the 150 point SAK. I'll just edit my post to save space in the thread and not confuse anybody else. :P
