--Hunting Season--
21 Yuuzhan Vong Shaper
60 Yuuzhan Vong Jedi Hunter x3
8 Wicket
5 Caamasi Noble
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
(100pts. 8 activations)

Here is a real fun squad. The 3 VJH's are absolute beasts. They run up to Jedi and lay 60 damage that is non-blockable. This squad is basically an auto-win against the JWM swarm and can take Bane rather easily if you can make your Crab Armor saves. The Noble sits in gambit and Wicket allows the JH's to hit high defense figures easier.

Whadd'ya think?

I think it is . . . bringing a tear . . . to my eye! Finally, something to annihilate those blasted JWM's!

Ah shoot. I meant to start this one off by dedicating this squad to you and your hate of the JWM swarm. (After reading your MANY posts about how you NEED to kill them. :D)

Glad you like it. :saber:

Yeah, the JH can more than handle a JWM. Add in a Shaper, and they will murder them.

Very beastly. Vong hunters are easily my favorite vong figure from this set, besides the shaper.

If I didn't already have my first post LOTF 100 point squad planned out I'd probably be playing this or something very like it.

I agree this squad is more than competitive.

I prefer two Advanced Scouts instead of Wicket and the Noble.

Why is that? Wicket helps VJH's hit non Jedi and the Noble can continue to soak gambit through the game. Are the 2 Thud Bugs worth it?

I don't think that the 2 advance scouts would be a worthwhile trade up. It would seem that the Jedi Hunters are the brunt of the force and there is a large difference between +13 and +17 (20% difference to be precise). I think wicket is a big piece to have in swarm squads at the 100 pt level.

Played this last night at our LGS. Performed WONDERFULLY (Full report here). Though, admittedly, our play group doesn't have THAT much experience with 100 point games, so many people either didn't have optimal squads, or just didn't play them right.

One thing I loved the most about this squad is that it didn't give a rip about winning/losing init. I could run up at the end of a round, base something with the JHs. If I won init, awesome. If I lost, no biggie, as there was very unlikely chance that they'd kill the JH.

In 4 games...no dead JHs and no dead Shaper. :D

I played a similar squad two days ago in a DCI tourney. It got smoked like I was not even there.

Boba, Merc Commander
2x gunslinger
Ugo's

On my Bespin (instead of his Mustafar). I won the first two inits, then he won the next three and just killed my Vong (I also missed most of my armor rolls).

Then again I lost on Bespin.
Han in STA
Ithorian Commander
Dodonna
7x AA
2x Ugo (he took a Ithorian Scout instead)

I plain just had no chance. I could kill 3x AA a turn (after they all attacked the pervious turn thanks to Dodonna's tempo).

Because of the huge range maps, I think the Vong are out of the 100 running. I really missed the call on that.

Same for me. I finally got around to trying them in my last 100 point tourny and faced nothing but Mando squads. I just barely managed to beat the Boba squad I faced, but it went downhill after that.

Well, as usual in 100 points, it's a lot about the Initiatives. I'm impressed that the Boba/Gunslinger squad can do so well in 100 points, since it doesn't actually have any init control of it's own. But all 3 pieces having Accurate helps I guess. I just found that I could take down both of the Gunslingers (or in the case of the game I did play, 1 Gunslinger and 1 Trooper) in a single round (barring horrible rolls). At that point, Boba will struggle to take out even a single JH in one round. Sure, wide open maps will really kill you, but unless your opponent drops Mustafar or Geonosis on the table, there should be little to worry about. Even Death Star gives enough hard cover to make a decent approach.
