Do you think with the new Leia coming soon that Jacen might see more play? She'll probably have a lot more HP, so he'll have his 40 damage swings a lot more, especially if you want to Homicidal Surgery her for 10 damage. I know he still has a lot going against him, but a double attack at +12 for 80 damage is nothing to sneeze at, especially with Garm.

Anything is possible, but this is unlikely. Jacen is outclassed on all sides with repulse out there and his inability to reroll. If Leia has around 120 HP (which I doubt) then he might be worth his cost because she can hang around for 2+ rounds for him to crank out damage.

I don't think Jacen will ever be competitive again. I can be wrong, but lets look at the facts.
60 HP-18 Def. He goes down QUICK. His only good ability is Unleash the Force, but that's 30-60 damage. First a force user has to die, draining him 10 HP, and he would need to make it up to the enemy. I've never played a game where someone got their Jacen near me, yeah that UTF can be scary, but not likely to happen.

I'm aware I say this almost ever post I've been doing lately, but,
I REALLY HOPE CAEDUS HAS AFFINITY FOR NR.

I've had some success using a MTB with Jacen on Vassal, but it really is hard to get a 60 hp unique anywhere effective when you can expect to see various Boba's/Han Cannons that can take him out easily with 1 activation. This is at the 200 point level, where a lot of things are competitive that may not normally be at 150.

I view Jacen as a cheap way for NR to get a "repulse bomb" - but 25 points for a one shot effect isn't all that great.

I would LOVE to see Ceadus have UTF and also have way more hp/def and renewal. That'd be insane! Actually, not really, it'd be on par with repulse, but still.

I think Jacen's return hinges way more on what Luke spirit brings to the table than anything Leia could do. Currently I only play him in an MTB ugo bomb squad where you can damage leia with an uggie and kill a HFA to get him full power. This does work at 150, but can only be considered fun as you need plenty to go your way. Even if Luke gives him renewal and lets him fire off multiple times I still only see him as a support piece for a gimmicky 200 squad.

*this all depends on the rest of the stats of the NR figures*

I could see him as a secondary attacker - a minor threat that your opponent ignores until it's too late. With Garm, I doubt we'll see too much more Greater Mobile for NR (yeah, I know, it's weird that I don't want figures to have it). I'm not even talking about using Jacen as a bomb - w/ Hantrooper and Leia (who hopefully won't have a CE) you could charge someone with a wounded Leia and attack, then charge in with Jacen for a quick 40 damage at +12 (+16 if Jaina's around).

Agreed; Jacen belongs in the dustbin and hopefully Caedus takes his place with affinity. It's ok to screw up a character and re-release with good stats (Kyle)

Caedus should only have Affinity for Non-unique NR guys. He really doesn't belong in a squad with the others.

He's in the GA (basically NR) wanting to make the galaxy a better place, in his diluted mind. He better have affinity. ~DSBoom

For non-uniques only. He sort of burned all the bridges that most would consider to be the core of the NR character list.

Yeah...unless his Abilities/Force Powers look more like a light side version of him, I really hope he isn't able to paired with like, Jaina, or Han, or the NR Leia, etc. Of course...he shouldn't have Force Powers and such like a light side version of Jacen if his name is Darth Caedus. :P

I'm cool with him bringing in non-Unique NR pieces. Perhaps a reinforcements ability similar to Garm's.

You guys are thinking too logically, think more analytically. This is SWM, I doubt Jango will be on the same team as a Darth Krayt in the Star Wars universe. I doubt Lando would be on the same team as Roan Fel. But these happen, because if you made this game too restrictive with era/alignment it would get boring. Force instance if they made Fringe people either Light Side or Dark Side, that would make it tiresome to have one side getting too good, or too little.

Except we have a precedent with a restrictive Affinity: Kota. I don't see why Kota would get a restrictive Affinity and Caedus wouldn't. I think that if they wanted to just make him to work with NR, they would've made him NR.

Yes, but he may be like Kota- But instead of order 66 clones, Caedus wouldn't be allowed in a squad with Luke. Jacen never liked Luke, and now he wants to kill him more than anyone.

Yeah but Caedus also doesn't like Jaina, Mara, his parents, Kyle, etc. Luke may be the main person he is angry against in the series, but he's tried to kill just about any one of the Jedi that's come near him several times throughout the series.

EDIT: Of course, they kinda screwed up the RCTS by giving him Order 66 (which I'm assuming is for better playability), so who knows.

I think that the non-Luke affinity is a really good idea because he did kinda like Mara(apparently he loved her) and for a while he worked with his parents.
