I'm planning to try out Loda and Princess Leia as 90 points of my next 100 point squad. I'm having trouble settling on theose last 10 points though.

Option A:Twi'Lek Bodyguard in case of Boba, BH
Option B:Uggies x3 for extra activations and some door control
Option C:R2-D2 for better door control

Option B could probably get you out of more jams with activations and door control.

Loda should rush Boba so there can be enough altering to prevent the big D

Definitely go with the 3 Ugnaughts. Pick a map that will give you enough places to get to the gambit area without giving Boba BH LOS at any time. Then, he'll have to come in close enough that you should be able to alter any 20's he lands. You'll want the Ugnaughts for multiple door control, and for the activations.

I was leaning towards the map with the hanger on one side and the water on the other. Can't remember the name of it. I like the double set of doors in the middle around the gambit zone.

Ahh you mean Jedi Acadamy aka Massanii temple.

Decent choice long as you start from the temple side, gives you 3 spots to gain gambit.

You might also consider League kit Bespin, regardless of side, it's pretty easy to get to gambit, and with all the doors it should cut down on nasty LOS's to give boba bh's less chance of getting the big D on you, least till he's close enough you can wail on him good.

Bespin is out. We have a player at my LGS who is very fond of Force Push.

Force push only helps him if he can get a bead on you. With all the enclosure long as you start on the left, he'll have to get mighty close to push you, plus left to center has NO pits.

And i ment to say on Temple you want to start hanger side as it's easier to gain gambit from that side.

I really like the Temple since I can get first turn gambit from either side, but I'll take a look at Bespin to see how the gambit (and surrounding) area looks after I get some sleep.

Well I don't know how your lgs is but at mine, Shaak Ti Jedi Master tends to see a lot of play, and she is a Loda killer and a half. For this reason I mention that Wicket would be another option, but at that point you need a map that does not have much door control issues, I like league kit Tatooine

If you have issues with somebody using a lot of Force Push, Bespin isnt' exactly the best map for them anyways. All you have to do is set up your pieces so that your ugnaughts or whatever are screening Loda and Leia. Then he can't get a first round push off on you (unless he wants to waste it on an Ugo). Then, on your first turn, you run Loda and Leia up towards the rooms, and well out of reach of Push. It's actually quite easy to avoid getting pushed into the pits on Bespin as long as you advance quickly enough. When it comes to Pushing, I'd be more worried about Starship or Muunilist, honestly.

I've never seen Shaak played at my LGS so I'm not too worried about her. If she is played it will probably be by someone who just got her so she probably won't be played to her full potential.

The FP problem isn't as bad as I was originally thinking. I forgot when the big FP player was using Bespin last time he was using FP wrong. I'm still leaning towards the Temple map though since that cuts non melee range down to almost nothing. I still need to take that closer look at Bespin though.

Anybody with Override, will be able to get shots off through the center hallway on the first round, if they start on the hangar side. It can work as well from the temple side, but you have to have something with enough speed to reach the center doors. So, it doesn't nullify range completely. Cuts it down a decent amount, but there's still some opportunities there, so just be careful how you set up.

My $.02 homer, is use the ugs. I've used that exact squad (Loda/Leia/3 Ugs) to terrific success at my LGS 100 point tourneys. Haven't lost with it yet (check my tourney summaries if you're interested).

If you think there is a chance of facing something similar (as I was the second time I played him after the first time caught everyone off guard) then Juno can be an option to shut down the opposing Leia (or Nom, or Han/Ithorian swarm squads, whatever). However, if that's not a threat at your LGS, then when push comes to shove, those extra 3 activations (and gambit gainers) are in my opinion far superior. You really need to be able to activate a few pieces BEFORE Loda/Leia do in case you lose initiative. If played right, initiative loss should be the only thing that can really stop you.

I use the Cloud City map, and using the Ugs, you can get into gambit with Loda on the first turn from either side using force points, the whole time staying out of your opponent's line of sight.

I'd pretty much settled on the Ugs. Unless I'm facing a lot of renewal I'm hoping I can use them to stall my opponents a couple rounds so Loda can build up some force points before i have to bring him into the thick of it.

Good Luck Homer, and I think the temple map is probably perfect for you.

I finally had time to dig out my Bespin map. It does look interesting, but I'm not sure if I'll take it over the Temple or not.
