Finally, the Map pack is getting ready for Print.

The "Official Release Date" for the map pack is April 15th, However if I can raise the money quick enough I will get it out sooner.

The Goal is to get 100 Packs Ordered before I send the packs into production. So I need as many preorders as quick as possible.

Also My wife has volunteered to be my book keeper on this so Thats going to make everything go very smoothly. She has also offered to take Money Orders by mail, but the jury is still out on that.

Also I'm an EBAY virgin so If I didn't set this up right, please let me know ASAP, so I can fix it.

The Map pack of Course has 6 skirmish friendly maps, as well as a few prizes I've thrown in, just for fun. At 30 Dollars Its a pretty good Deal, and I promise that there are only ever going to be 300 of them made, so If you really want one don't delay, Once there gone, there gone.

Follow the link to order! And Thank you for the support!!!! :jawa:

JC,

So, of course I went to buy one of these ASAP (even though I have most of them anyway. Double sided rules) I am no Ebay expert, but you have this set up as an auction vs buy it now. So, you should have this set up as Buy it now for $30 and have the quantity set for 100 or 300 depending on how you want to roll.

You might consider dumping the ebay route completely. It means exposing your email address on the internet, but just having people Paypal to an email address saves you 5% to 8% (depending on when Ebay switches their fee structure) per purchase. That adds up--a couple hundred bucks in the 100 you need to sell.

I agree with nickname unless the Ebay store method gives increased advertising so as to get to the 100 pre-order faster.

I think NN's idea is great, but I would do both. I would do the paypal deal for the folks here and still use Ebay cause that way it shows up in all the major search engines. And I doubt you are allowed to post this kinda thing on the Wizo site so the more availability the better. Both are probably going to be a little difficult as most of the die hards here are probably planning to just buy one at Gencon, so getting people to actually pre-order that are going may be a little tricky, IMHO.

You can put me down for an order as well!

How much do you think postage to the UK would cost? The maps are folded, not rolled, right?

Keep me posted on when the maps are going into production. That'd also determine WHERE I'd want the maps sent... soggybottomboy knows how annoying it can be to send things to me when I'm not 100% sure of my own travel itinerary...

JC,

Considering it has been 14 hours and I have already been outbid, Ebay is definately the way to go. You better fix this before someone bids a really high number and you realize what you have and how much it is worth on the open market.

WOAH, I REALLY like the new Enclave. VERY interesting. Let us know when you get everything situated. You should be able to cancel the current auction, and then you'll want to set it up as a 'Buy it now' and you can set the quantity at something like 100.

Also, like someone else said, I'd definitely look into the possibility of just doing it straight through pay-pal rather than ebay. Ebay will take a percentage of your sales, and then paypal will take another percentage. If you do it straight through pay-pal then you avoid some of those fees, though you have to give your paypal-linked email address out to people so they know how to send the payment to. Also, if you use pay-pal, and you have it linked to a bank account, then if the person buying it pays with money directly from their own bank account, then nobody gets charged any percentage type fees at all.

First off thanks for the great ideas, and Ebay tech support, I've decided that Ebay is NOT the way to go.

Right now I'm in talks with EPIC MINIATURES, They are either going to fund the project or at the very least, give me the space I need ot sell it myself.

Also Someone asked about UK/OverSeas Sales, and I will do that on a case by case basis, as soon as the actual product is finished, I just don't know how much It's going to cost yet. But I promis I'll get them over one way or another in April/May timeframe.

As far as the Enclave map goes, I made the Art,but 99 percent of that map is Fingers and Teeth, he is definitly the Jimi Hendrix of maps.

So anyways, The Ebay link ias about to get deleted.

Thinking about it, there's no reason why you can't do both. :)

Give forum-goers the direct purchase through Paypal so you maximize the $ you make, but put one at a time up for auction to see if you get bids from "outsiders" and keep running auctions as long as you do--all you're out is the couple dollar listing fee if they don't sell. I think ebay however would be best done when the maps are actually ready. Pre-sale causes some issues that you might not be prepared for or want to deal with concerning buyer remorse and paypal protection (which I don't think will be a problem with you since you're trustworthy, but may create a perception from strangers that you might be since you're collecting money immediately but not scheduled to deliver until their time runs out to file a complaint.)

I'd be cautious about using Epic. They're a legitimate business that would potentially be a big enough "target" for WotC or LFL to be concerned about selling an unauthorized suppliment. It goes from being a "fan" thing to a competitor and I'd caution both sides about considering it (since I wouldn't want Epic to get in trouble anymore than I'd want you to.)

Good luck with it!

I know you have some cool things planned as extras from your first post, but I have a small suggestion;
Seeing as how you're only making 300 hundred of these they could definetely be considered collectors items. Maybe you could put a numbered "certificate of authentication" with each pack, signed by you of course :D ! I don't know what others would think, but I'd put it on my wall in my little Star Wars room under the stairs!
Anyway, looking forward to purchasing a map pack, you do great work!
