I cut all that wood this summer because my parents built a new house and decided to use our 400ish acres of forest to heat the damn thing. . They built the house fairly close (through some woods) to my father's truck garage for his construction company, so they use an external wood boiler to provide heat and hot water to the house and the garage. You should have come to Maine for a vacation this summer Dean... you could have helped me cut, split, and pile a lot more than two trees a day

Back when I was 12 my mother's boyfriend had a woodburning stove for his houses heat. I didn't get to chainsaw the trees, but I did spend a lot of time with a log splitter making the big pieces of tree into smaller pieces that would fit in a wood burning stove.

Yeah, I have split a lot of wood too. The splitter was much more fun than the ax.

Gotta start up the fireplace when it dips down into the mid-60's.

Where are your safety glass or ear protection? hmmm

I thought the first picture was some sort of cage match. Then I noticed the door was open and you had a chainsaw, so I figured that you won.

Aren't chainsaws fun in a scary sort of it-can-chop-your-arm-off way?

I'm down in Western Massachuesetts so the worst of it is long past us now. I think we ended up with about a foot total. When my mother was coming home in the early afternoon yesterday what would normally have been at most a 10 minute drive took her over an hour and a half. I ended up skipping dialysis last night because even if I did manage to get down to the place in the weather that was at that point even worse than when my mom was coming home I would have had the added fun of the return trip 5-6 hours later after dark.

I will admit to giving serious consideration to taking my AT-AT and some other Hoth based minis outside to set up a nifty Battle of Hoth display in the snow.

We're supposed to get about 6 inches starting tomorrow. So much for hoping to put up some more Christmas lights tomorrow, lol.

If you all moved to Arizona you would not have to worry about that thing called snow.

Here snow is just like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Moster, some people say it exists, but personally I have never seen it. :)

Wait, don't move here. It is getting too crowded already. :)

No way, thanks.

I'll stay in the midwest. I just cannot pass up the chance to get hypothermia and heat-stroke on the same day.

And that's the weather.

I feel bad for ya, Dean. Maybe you should move out of the mid-west.

EDIT: Yesterday it was 45 degrees here and heavy thunderstorm. Crazy.

I dont know about the mid-west weather, but I know the new england weather makes men out of us! unfortunately it makes men out of the women too. :(
