We know almost everything there is to know about Armada now, just waiting on the actual rulebook (and the damage deck contents). So now that all the information is available, who is planning on buying into it?

I'm really looking forward to it, and will definitely be picking it up. I'll likely play Rebels more than Imperials, although double VSDs with lots of crit-heavy cards (Admiral Screed, XX-9 Turbolasers) looks like a lot of fun, too.

Most likely but I don't have room for another game that takes up space.

I guess that means you won't be bringing it to Pa with you when you come in May lol. (Although I'd like you to if you can.)

Of the 2 new games, I am most likely to invest in Armada. Despite hearing great things all around about IA, I won't be investing but will be up for playing it. I'll have to see when I have the chance to get into Armada if there is anything else competing for my dollar at the time it debuts.

My focus will be on IA and the LCG. My buddy collects X-wing, I collect the LCG and IA.

I am interested but we will have to see. Since gaming is just a side hobby and my main focus is animation even in my free time really only have time to invest in one or two games.

The biggest problem around here is finding players for these games. I have found IA players but could never find LCG players. I am afraid that might be the case with this game but I am amazed but it so far.

If it wasnt for Janesville I am not sure I would of stayed with SWM. In my area minis was bought be never really played in the game stores. I havent talked with the Janesville guys but I am guessing some of them are in.

Armada does look kinda cool, but I just plainly don't have the money. I'd love to learn it and play it if someone brings their copy to demo, but with IA I've got more than enough to keep me going.

I am skipping this one.
Money, time, playgroup

Right now Lafayette is struggling to get IA started let alone another game. Xwing and the LCG are going strong, but I am not sure people had the money to buy into IA as well. Maybe once the league kits arrive it will help. Throw in Attack Wing and what ever the Star Trek game is called there are a bunch of minis options out there.

I just don't see the players for Armada in our area.

Attack Wing is the Star Trek game, I believe.

I really like IA, but it doesn't get a lot of play around here, probably mostly because the tournament rules JUST came out and the ally/villain packs aren't coming out until next week. There are a lot of X-Wing players around though, and there is already a Facebook group for North Georgia Armada players, and there's a core group that are very excited for it.

The LCG only got off the ground here at one particular store. Not really a big following. X-Wing is the primary Star Wars game, and the X-Wing players are very interested in Armada. I've also got Greg and Graham already looking to get into it.

Oh yeah, I always forget about the D&D game. I guess they're both called Attack Wing? Star Trek: Attack Wing and D&D: Attack Wing. That's not confusing at all....

i doubt it. It looks cool, ships look great but i feel i would play it pretty infrequently.

I guess it depends how much it is to buy into.

Kickstarting Conan and investing in IA is about my games expenditure for the year.

Post your thoughts when you get a chance to play it. I'm anxiously awaiting my tax refund before I jump in.

Nope. Several of us are interested in playing it, but no one is going to buy it.

Ryan, very active in the Milwaukee X-Wing scene, participated in our X-Wing GSC last weekend ... and we discussed how Milwaukee sounds like despite what looks like a good game they'll be on the sidelines as well due to the high price point.

edit: And the Milwaukee crowd wonders about the OP aspect. Games take longer* so they wonder how looooong tournaments will be.

* Armada tournament rules are now released that state 90 minute rounds which is just like X-Wing. So, maybe this part won't be an issue.

2nd edit: Armada tournaments, though, are ramping up points; starting at 180, going up to 250(?), and then finalizing at 400. Those games will take a while; I don't think 90 minutes will do it justice.

That's after seeing the game in person this past weekend. (Yes, the ships and game materials look great.) Some experienced gamers played a couple games and it was a long time before a capital ship was shot down.

As I look at the videos, it just looks too similar to X-Wing, IMHO. It does look like a great game, but if people are already invested in X-Wing, then there seems to be almost no reason to invest in its non-identical twin brother.

For me it's a money thing. And also a space thing. And also a time thing.

"It's about time, it's about space, it's about a pie in your face"...ahh, never mind...no one will remember that reference.

I'm getting into it, I think. Same problem here...both IA and Armada are too steep to jump into both of them.

True. However, I am very happy to be finding out that IA will be a heck of a lot cheaper than SWM was. SWM was generally about $250-300+ per set...2x or 3x per year. Plus maps. It looks like IA will be half that cost, at most.

I guess I should have added that I am full on into X Wing and it has top priority for my money. The decision is what to invest in AFTER that.

I got a copy of this yesterday. Can't wait to play it! REally looking forward to using the ship miniatures in my star wars RPG sessions that I GM for. Will definetly be cool to see an actual star destroyer on a space map when the time comes for it.
