As was I. Key word being was. Now that Maris is out, Fringe finally has a very aggresive and well costed melee Jedi.

I don't know i like Vosa allright, stick her in a rebel spotter squad with a rebel leader or two at 200 points and she can make them formitable. keep her hidden away like you would mas and let your squad tear them up, then when the time comes unleash her on the remaining beatsticks. I played a game against a competative imperial squad like that and lost to vader jh, but took out VAU and EPSL. I still think it was a successful test run and i will play it again.

Infact the squad was: Mind Control Zombies

Komari Vosa 47
Dannik Jeriko 23
Garindan 12
Duros Explorer x3 (7x3=21)
Rebel Trooperx10 (5x10=50)
Twilek rebel Agentx2 (9x2=18)
Rebel Leader 18
R2D2 8
Uggnaught Demolitionist 3
200pts 21 Activations

Hmmm....I wonder if Komari's CE really does combine with the Leader's though, since they are basically "+ to stats" type of CEs. That's an interesting one.

Not a bad idea though, if it works.

Ok Rebel leaders CA reads:
Followers within 6 squares who combine fire grant +6 Attack instead of +4.

Komari Vosa's reads:
Allies who combine fire grant an additional +2 Attack

Since Vosa's does not say "instead of" it adds onto the Rebel Leaders CA. And if the Rebel Leader in within 6 of a Rebel character they gain spotter 20. So a reber trooper within 6 of the RL and on the map with Vosa (while she is controlling minds) Combines for +8 attack and +20 (to enemy's within six) per character activated in this manner. Making reguler troopers invalulable. At least thats the way i read it.

@ugavine,
Brood is going to be played in 1 type of squad and that's Kota with Wicket and Mas IMO.

Now Maris can go wherever and be a 12 attack with a 22 defense, which is respectable and Wicket follows in her wake hopefully making her a 16 attack on an Assault.

If Brood bites it then you can always tow Kota and then move him 12 to where he needs to be for the big Repulse the next round.

I play Brood a lot, in many types of squads. She has become one of my all time favorite characters to use. With or without Kota

I read it the same. Vossa can be very good in the right squad, but so can most characters in the right squad. I personally don't think Vossa is a great character but don't thin she is as bad as members are making her out to be. She is equal to Basstila and a lot of Republic Jedi, Not all but quite a few of them.

Since Vosa currently works with both Battle Meditation and Baron Fel, Mind Control will work with the Rebel Leader.

I had thought that Vosa was well costed....until she was hit with the errata.

Brood is, in my opinion, WotC's apology for such an incredible waste of opportunity that was Vosa.

I agree with conehead, Vosa was horrible. Brood is a ton better, the mini repulse and push lets her take out grunts, and renewal gives her an infinite number of Assaults. That with Kota=devastation

Not a bad squad, but i can see it getting slammed against a force repulse squad

First off... I'd like to announce that this is my first post on swmgamer.com!!!

I certainly think Brood is much better than Vosa, and as others have stated Brood may very well have been a "do-over" for Vosa.

What bums me out is that now that they've made Brood, it will be very hard to make a mini that makes Vosa a highly usable fig, because that mini will almost certainly make Brood, better as well. About the only way would be to do something like the A&E Tarkin that benefits commanders.

Anyway, just my 2 cents ... and I enjoy the site!!! Great job everyone!!! (okay, I'll slow down on the exclamation points from here on out.)

Vosa is and has been overcosted for some time. Unless WotC has some 'plan' for her in the future she will be a very unused mini for a long time to come. It would be nice to use her in some capacity, but if the cost vs. effect was a design flaw that seems unlikely.

I intend to make a playable squad with Vosa and Brood. Tier 1... no, but it should be at least semi competitive.

Does it include Kota currently? There isn't much out there to boost these 2 figs at the moment........

I think Ghost Obi works with them, although he'd be almost pointless with Brood since she already has renewal.

Ghost is good for boosting only 1 fig though and I'd also assume it would have to be Vosa if he was in the squad. I had beast game where ghost was boosting Han Cannon and I got extra attacks by Leia. I won that game
