Scott, and any others from Tammany Hall, it would be of interest to me and I'm sure to others, if you could go into more detail on this process. We've often heard of, and play testers have seen different versions of the same design, so if you wouldn't mind elaborating on the process of going from draft to final design it would be appreciated. I think it might help the community make their choice on the two miniatures we will attempt to design as a group and give us a preview of what we can expect for the next step of this process.

Once the stats are done they are sent to playtesting. At which point it is making adjustments based on playtest reports. Honestly, it is the point where I'm most hesitant about this public process. Because each designer can interpret the playtest data differently, and it has been an issue in the past to get 4 designers agreeing on changes. Sometimes it's small, sometimes it large. My involvement as a rules advisor is now more along the process, nixing the obvious issues at the start, and working on making things work as the process goes on.

Yeah, I don't remember seeing any threads lately where they showed us the design process of any particular piece.

My vote goes to the Sarlaac and the Ewok Catapult. To be honest nothing really appeals to me. Some people on bloomilk said sarlaac should be an epic, I can find a way to use epics in my normal games. I want a normal sarlaac. I dont even play ewoks, but a catapult seems like fun.

That's a great point, and reason to direct people again to this thread about how we'll handle the design process:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15879&start=0

With this many people, nobody is going to get exactly what they want. So think about how you would want things to work so that when you don't get your way, you at least can walk away feeling like your ideas were considered fairly.

I have a proposal in that thread for how things could work in the design process, to ensure that we move forward and eventually reach a final product without getting stuck in gridlock. It's the post with the timestamp Mon Oct 22, 2012 9:58 am. So far, no comments on it or other proposals.

(Discussion about this should be in the other thread so this thread can stay on the topic of voting for the names.)

If the Slicer or the Captain make it through as the final pieces I hope we can get an alien race tacked on the front. The right alien race could really help determine the recommended mini, which we will have to decide on almost immediately. It would also help spark imaginations designing the stats.

As I recall from the Zahn books... While on Bastion didn't Han and Lando enlist a certain Verpine Slicer who was a pal of Lobot? If the BS Slicer was to make it through, that might be a good racial option.

Yes Moegid was the name of the slicer. "Thrawn" cracked him because verpine always use some certain set of number combinations when they are slicing or something.

It's great to take from canon source material whenever possible. Perfect suggestion Gerry.
