Well this one looks like it is shaping to be a pretty good event.

As always. :)
Owensboro has always been a wonderful venue for true regional play. It is within driving distance from several other venues and serves as a great midpoint for them as well (ie Atlanta players will square off against Kokomo, IN, and Danville, IL, competitors). It doesn't hurt that the location has been a friend to the game and the community pretty much from the start. :)

That is cool, I am looking forward to meeting yet another new gang of players. Has everyone got their squads figured out? I've just got to finalize my map and I'm ready to go. :)

Random question, since your venue is a comic book shop do the do anything with anime? Kinda trying to figure out the budget for the trip LOL.

I don't really follow comics that much but I believe they do have an anime section.

Awsome sauce. The one sad thing though is I don't think were going to be bringing more then just HannahCannon and myself. We've invited our venues shop owner and Chris Elwell from the Lansing trip but neither have given a definite answer yet.

While I'm not surprised, I don't think it would go over well to bring alcoholic beverages into a store with a bunch of kids and where the owner doesn't have a liquor license, lol.

Not me, One New Years a local venue hosted a tournament at midnight. Before we did that the shop owner, myself and a few friends went for drinks. I came back blitzed, played round 1 only because I remembered what the blurry pictures on the cards meant they did.. won the round then dropped because I couldn't sit up in my chair.

But back on topic, how close to Lansing do you think the results will look like at the end of the day?

I'm not going to say what we're bringing, but if the Atlanta players (me, Weeks, and Graham) have anything to say about it, not very close. There were certainly some strong squads at Lansing, and were absolutely some strong players, but those results aren't going to be the end-all definition of the meta.

Thats encouraging, I admit after seeing the results it felt sortoff like a magic tournament where 3 versions of the same color deck win out.

Having just done the Atlanta to Kalamazoo drive in one day, this is somewhat tempting...

Results will be entirely different and I would almost go so far as to say there will be no Imps (maybe 1) in the top 4.
