Nautolan gives fringe followers with stealth black sun so defilers and Cad get stupidly mean because xizor gives them +4 attack and +10 damage. Then theres good ol bastila tellin things no and addin more damage to the table. Comments please =)

Why did you go with the Zann defilers instead of some other black sun members?

Because they are a multi-tool lol they have stealth satchel charge twin attack proximity mines 40 penetration 10 and deadeye lol why not? and their stats arent bad they fix the door situation as well as being a useful attacker.

Defilers become Black Sun because of the Nautolan's CE. That makes them really powerful, +12 for 30 dmg twin attacks, or 40dmg hits with Deadeye. And the Mines are deadly vs SSM and high-defense targets.

This is a really cool squad. I like it a lot. And since there is a lot of stealth, it can cause trouble for other shooter-heavy squads.

Here's a Republic version, which loses ABM but gains the best movement breaker in the game and Booming Voice:

--Black Hole Sun--
54 Cad Bane
30 Xizor
48 Zann Consortium Defiler x2
23 Nautolan Black Sun Vigo
9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid
8 Mas Amedda
8 Wicket
7 Aqualish Assassin
5 Rodian Diplomat
8 Gran Raider x2

(200pts. 12 activations)

It gains 2 activations and Override and Traps, but it loses ABM. It would have a harder time vs the mirror match, but I think it might possibly do better vs other squads. The Rodian Diplomat is useful to serve as both mobile cover and also as a stealth-remover (important for this shooter-squad). Wicket and the AA and the Grans are variable...use those 23pts as you see fit.

Towing a +20/120dmg Cad means Mace Critdu isn't so scary anymore...and more importantly, he can't hide. GOWK/Mace squads generally have 8-10 activations, so this would likely spell doom for them as long as you can count squares and keep Cad far enough away from Mace. Defilers do auto-damage to GOWK while you use Wicket's Traps to hit and drop GOWK's followers.

Thats a nice spin lol ill have to test both versions..my original build is set to go against a GOWK/Mace squad here in a bit so that should be intersting lol thanks for the input

Only problem is once you come up against bastilla, lancers, game over. I would use this in imps, throw in palleon for the bubble, and a kel dor to take care of lancer.

Not really. The only real CE there is Xizor's. The Defilers and the Vigo are strong enough to last a few rounds of Bastilla. Lancer's might be tough, but they will kill it rather quickly.

yea not really worried bout lancer...lancer needs commander effects to be worth it lol i can deal with those via bullets lol and this thing totally ATE a GOWK/Mace squad even with 2 diplomats on the table lol this thing is a monster and i like it lol it dropped mace in 1 round with 4 shots gowk to a minute cuz the turbo rolls it kept gettin but then started to fail out...lol

Idk I recall single lancer wracked up a whopping 6 regional wins, so I wouldnt pass it off by just saying "I'll shoot it". I'd say 95% or more of those strafes didn't have twin. Single lancer just runs over your dudes then runs back into cover. He only has to do that 2-3 times before all your dudes are dead.

While that's your bad matchup I do like that this counters a lot of what's flying around in the meta currently.

So I really like this squad a lot, my first squad when I was introduced to the game was black sun and I have been looking for some way of bringing it back and this looks great I will have to try it out

so i know what i am about to say is probably a face palm moment however i was looking at this squad and looking through my box-o-cards and found captain tarpals, dont you think that it would be awesome if you were able to double proximity mines dude x and have gowk giving the stupid pluses as well just a thought cause i got bored
