Killing a helpless creature falls into the major transgression so increases a characters DSS. I use the guidelines from Jedi Counseling 111 when deciding if the action fall into the above category. I have attached a PDF of the web page.

In the situation you were in there was a way for the hero's not have to be the ones killing him. Like the situation with the swoop gang, there was another way out.

Now that the scene is in the past. When I played though this encounter about six months ago, we suggested that the audience chamber was too classy a place to dirty with the blood of scum, and that an execution should be made more public. Made a Persuasion check and went to dinner as Guards dragged the prisoner away.

As I said before, I am arguing for future referense, not current, I accept the DSP


The link you sent listed the following as one of the conditions for it to be a blatantly evil act.
"Was the action unnecessary to protect yourself or another character from an immediate, obvious threat?"

From my characters perspective (not knowing Nuu whatever is a shape shifter or any other meaningful way to avoid doing as he was told) it was not avoidable without risking the mission and everybody involved (the party). That would make it questionably evil. Also, I submit from the last paragraph "Is a threat imminent and real, or is the
character merely trying to justify unnecessary aggression?" I would say the threat was very imminent and real.

Still, as I said, I accept the DSP, as questionably evil is up to the GM's discretion. I just want it a little more defined what qualifies so I can try harder to avoid one in the future.

The option you chose was already taken off the table, however, as Nuu whatever had already declared the guy dead and the "dead: body was about to be removed. We had also already displeased the hutt by not complying with his request. Hence why my character shot (again, if he had known Nuu whatever was a shape shifter it might have been different but he didn't.)

I also couldn't help but notice, ANY coup de gras would be questionably evil by the definitions given in the PDF.

I am sorry that there was no post. Ill post later today when the story moves along a little more. I really think the xp needs to be 48 hours with the holidays come up. I work retail on the weekends and some during the week for the holidays. So I am going to be limited at posting.

Jester007 I checked your level up and found some errors. Specifically: one missing FP, there should be a second entry under ranged for welding both blasters, Quick draw is a special action, you do not gain resistance to heat/cold unless you have the all-temperature cloak on, and i believe that you need two hip holsters to hold your guns each cost 25 credits and weighs 0.5 kg. I guess i cant figure where the +2 Perception came from either. I just blindly copied and pasted the Excel Stat Block. I dont see why it gave me a +2. Oh well though. Oh and sorry for being tardy in posting, I've been gone for work sporadically for the last 2 weeks (this last time I was gone from Monday to Wednesday).

Just PM me before hand and I will not deduct XP for not posting.

On that note I have changed how I do experience. I am now awarding XP for Role Playing / Posting (in addition to the penalty). This change is retroactive, so I went through all the post to current and updated everyone's experience. In addition, starting November 22nd I have changed the 24 hour post requirement to 48 hours till January 2, 2012 to accommodate Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and everything associated with the holidays.

Because it is an available language in the books, it is currently a; spoken, written, and documented language (though uncommon), a number of old artifacts are in sith, and I wanted to :P

I really have no reason to know Shriiwook or Ryl either, other than I wanted to know it.

Because of time line the Sith language is all but dead. If you were associated with a Force using tradition that might have know it, or your character was an archeologist I would say ok. Please pick another language.

[Edit] We are going to need to have a Vassal session in the next week or so. I can change the order of events so the the game is interrupted as little as possible. Since we are so close to Christmas, is there a time that will work for everyone?

How about because my destiny is discovery and I was hoping it would involve sith weaponry...

Anyway, I will leave it unassigned until I decide to learn skads language or something.
