We are just 2 and a half short weeks before the best 4 days in gaming! There's a lot of talk about what's going to be going on this year, including what the meta is going to look like as well as who's going to be busy playing on Sunday. There's even been trash talk about the team tournament already (which I might have taken slight part in...). So let's have a thread to pile all of our predictions into for this year.

What squads are going to be played the most, and which are going to do the best? What team is going to be the 2011 Team Tournament champions? Who's going to come out on top of the Jedi Challenge or the Sith Trials? Who's going to be our 2011 Regional Champion, Tim or Graham? And how's the top 8 going to look on Sunday, and who's going to win it all (if you're brave enough to venture a guess as to that!)?

Team Tournament winner: Me, Myself, and I
Jedi Challenge winner: Me
Sith Trials winner: Me
Meta: Whatever squad I'm playing
Tim or Graham?: Me
Top 8: 5-7 people who haven't had the misfortune of playing me yet, a couple who have lost to me, and Me.
World Champion: Uh...me? Duh.

The only thing I'll say is that Tim Ballard will finally make the Top 8! :D

I won't share the rest of my information with you...many good bothans died for it. Seriously, though, I really wouldn't know where to start. But just for the heck of it, here we go:

Meta: a balance of mass-activation squads and mass-kill squads, with lots of lancers being played
Team Tournament champions: Team Canada, of course...eh?
Jedi Challenge winner: Matt Peterson
Sith Trials winner: Matt Hanson
Tim or Graham: huh?
Top 8: Lobostele (as always) and Tim Ballard (I'm rootin' for ya, Tim!). Beyond that, it's too hard to say.
Champion: As long as the winner is not playing Rebels, I don't care! Seriously, I'll say Lobostele...his Sunday luck has to change at some point.

Meta:Lots of carbon copies of regional winning squads. Lancer will be played by a fair amount of people. And lancer hate will be played a lot as well.
Team:either one of the Atlanta teams or Canada.
Jc:Trevor
St:someone unexpected.
Tim or Graham:Graham
Top 8:3 black polos and 5 other guys
Champion:I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel actually wins again. With my prediction of 3 black polos in the top 8 id say we have a pretty good shot at winning if we don't have to play each other in the first round of the top 8.

OH NO you cursed me!!!

Team Tournament winner: It would be Deri, Jake and I, but we're probably not playing. Gotta give others a shot. ;)
Jedi Challenge winner: As always, someone from the midwest
Sith Trials winner: Total crapshoot. Since Epic Duos is randomly assigned it's a large part luck.
Meta: Not as many Lancers as people seem to think (but still a handful). I am predicting more Solo Charge or slight tweaks of that squad. Republic will make a surge vs what we saw at regionals, and there will be a scatter of imps and ever-present rebels. There will be a couple great players playing OR, but I think it will miss the top 8. Same with Vong and Mandos, though in even fewer numbers. I'd be SHOCKED to see Sith make the top 8.
Top 8 Factions: 2 NR, 2 Seps, 2 Republic, 1 Imp, 1 Rebel. #9-16 will have 2-3 OR, 1 Vong, 1 Mando, and the rest from the top factions.
Top 8 players by Region: 3 from Chicago, 1 from MI, 1 from Canada, 1 wildcard . . . and I guess 2 from the south
Tim or Graham?: Definitely Graham

If I make the top 8 I'll wear a black polo to help your prediction be closer to correct.

Bold prediction here: I'll be judging, Les is gone, Philips no longer plays, so the 1 from Indiana will be Mike Giles or Tony Mullins. Only 1 guy in OH even plays anymore :D

Phillip doesnt play anymore? He was a perennial top 8 finisher.

The one guy from OH has never NOT made the top 8. Only person alive to do that

Meta: all over the place, with lots of Republic
Team Tournament champions: Team America
Jedi Challenge winner: 100 Trevor beating myself, 200 Myself beating Trevor, 150 tossup between Trevor and Myself for the overall title
Sith Trials winner: Myself, due to my strong showing in Tile Wars
Tim or Graham: If your asking who's better looking, then Tim.
Top 8: Trevor Payton,Tim Ballard, Aaron Brueckman, Mike Giles, Graham Bingham, Daniel Stephens, +2 surpises.
Champion: The above order is correct.

Team Tournament winner: Team Elitist
Jedi Challenge winner: Brad - hey, he's bound to finally win something :)
Sith Trials winner: ???
Meta: NR and Seps will be played heaviest, but neither wins
Tim or Graham?: I'll go with Tim
Top 8: I'm going with 3-4 from Chicago, 1 from Michigan, 1 from Atlanta, 1 Canadian and 2 from wherever
World Champion: Chicago wins it for the 4th time, after closing down Hooters on Sat night, and maybe even a couple of games of Kung Fu :)

Team Tournament winner: How about...throw dart at board ---> Team Atlanta's A-Team (hell, playing all the regionals has to help hehe)
Jedi Challenge winner: Brad - builds cool squads usually with something unexpected (maybe Carlisle if he still played)
Sith Trials winner: I could see Lou if he is playing
Meta: Seps
Tim or Graham?: Tim
Top 8: 2 Chicago, 1 Michigan, 1 Atlanta, 1 Canada, 1 Kentucky, 1 Indiana, 1 Ohio (if anyone in that state still plays..if not add an ATL)
World Champion: Atlanta

I guess I should add my own predictions to this, too...

Team Tournament winner: Atlanta's A team, of course!
Jedi Challenge winner: I'm thinking David Weeks has a good shot at it, if he's going to play in all 3 legs.
Sith Trials winner: I'll guess Brad
Meta: NR, Seps, and Republic will make up at least 60% of the squads played, and 4 or 5 of the top 8. Solo Charge, single Lancer, and Skybuck are going to be the biggest things around and squads to beat, with some small variations to those squads.
Tim or Graham?: Of course I have to say Graham
Top 8: Deri, Graham, Trevor, Tim (yes, I think he'll make it this year), Aaron, a Michigan player, another Atlanta player (either me, David, or Greg), and one wild card.
World Champion: If the Atlanta players don't have to play each other in the first round of playoffs, I think there's a pretty good chance one of us could make it. Although honestly I think predicting the champion is way too much of a crap shoot; anybody that can get to the top 8 can potentially finish out. Depends on seeds and matchups and such.

Team Tournament winner:Team USA.
Jedi Challenge winner: This one is tough but if he plays all three parts I will go with Tim B.
Sith Trials winner: Brad hands down.
Meta: NR, Seps, and Republic
Tim or Graham?: It is really close but I will go with Tim mostly because I have played him more.
Top 8: Tim B,Daniel,Tony M,Greg S, Eric F,Eric L,Jason K,Lou.
World Champion: Lou I have to pick myself because I should not play if I dont think I could win.
Starship Battles World Championship: 1 Lou 2 Jake 3 Eric 4 Bill

LOL - I'm sure many ladies would disagree, but thanks . . . I think

Oh - and I should say who my pick is for The TILE WARS world championship - Brad P aka The_Celestial_Warrior. I love how much thought and effort he puts into his squads. He really comes up with creative mayhem.

As far as specific names for the top 8, well . . .

I think 6 of 8 will be from this list:

Top 8 front runners (in no particular order)
Bill R
Deri M
Matt P
Trever P
Eric F
Jason K
Eric L
Lou V
Aaron B
Graham B
David W
Greg S
Daniel S
Matt H

1 Additional will come from this list:

Dark Horses (in no particular order)
Jake K
Tony M
Mike G
Scott S
Jason A
Ben J
Jim M
Matt S
Ricky H
Chris P
Jonny B
Luke C
Ian G
James W
Brandon P
Jason T
Ray B

and 1 will come from out of the blue, not on either of these lists.

Team Tournament winner: Team Wild Card because well you don't know what to expect from them =P.
Jedi Challenge winner: Trevor Peyton
Sith Trials winner: Tim Ballard (if he is playing)
Meta: NR, Seps, and Republic
Tim or Graham?: Graham
Top 8: Me myself and I because I figure at some point I am gonna click on all cylinders might as well be at GenCon, Bill, Jason, David, Daniel, Tim, Trevor, Ben Johnson
World Champion: Gonna go with Trevor for this one.
Starship Battles World Championship: Don't know who plays so I'm gonna say the person who wins.

Team Tournament winner: Atlanta (Daniel, Graham, and me). I luckily got matched up with Daniel (gencon winner) and Graham (3 regional wins this year). I'm definitely the weak link here, but hopefully I'll get some decent match-ups!

Factions in the Top 8:
NR 3
Seps 2
Republic 2
Rebel 1
(As suggested by TINT: the top squads will be a mix of "mass activations" and "mass activation killers")
(I'm guessing lancer won't be that popular except for the top players who have been playing it all throughout the regional season. I think Imperial or Old republic will be absent.)

Top 8 players (Just a wild guess): 3 Atlanta guys (Daniel, Greg (if he sticks with Solo Charge), and Graham), Bill and Deri (they both won gencon before) Tim B., Eric from Canada, and Lou (eh, why not)

World Champion: Graham versus TimB. The player with more activation wins.

Where I hope I am wrong: Perhaps, someone will show up with a surprising Old Republic Squad or Vong which marches strait to the finals!!!
