OK can someone spell this out for me how this event is going to work? I'm still a little confused as to what I need to bring to the event.

I think I might be able to enlighten you, Chris, lol.

Okay, here is exactly how Sealed Events will work.

What you need to bring are a box of minis which can be used to represent the multitude of the 60 characters from R&R, dice, and a Standard Legal Map. If you happen to pull two of the same mini from the two "packs," please have two of the same piece to represent them, just to make it simpler. This isn't necessary, but realize it will help all around.

So, when the tourney is about to begin, everyone will be handed two pieces of laminated paper with the "packs" they are getting to use, along with a sealed set of R&R (the Battle of Theed palace is a bonus, this year, btw). You will build a 125 point squad using the cards and the pieces. Since it is the first time being done like this, I will require squad registration forms to be filled out, just out of fairness.

I think that covers it, any other questions, let me know. Oh, hey, you can call me, Chris, lol.

Not sure if we did it for DotF, but it would be cool if we can make a "sealed case" available in a document format for people to print out.

Well, what an amazing idea. Oh, wait, already done, lol! Brad sent it to me and it's ready to go and will be available online after Gencon.

Hey Ray

I think I know the answer, but just want to doublecheck.

If in the sealed event, what can be used as Dooku's immediate reserves? The only Sep droid is worth 21 points.

For Celeste Morne, can she use Sith Alchemy to place rackghouls on the board?

Unfortunately, those abilities really aren't worth much in the sealed events, since there are no Raks in the set, and the droid issue is also there. It's just one of those unfortunate occurances.

So Celeste can't turn people into Rakghouls? Well that sucks! :(

She most definitely can! The only problem is, they're invisible Raks! I dub them Shadowlurker. They can't move, they don't occupy a space, they can't attack...but you know they're there. Lurking....waiting...wishing...to strike.

;)

In all seriousness, it's the same thing as during the TFU release tourney. You got screwed if you pulled Kazdan and no droids. You have a cool Jedi so not worth his points if he can't bring in any Reserves.

I guess with the v-sets, Sealed are a whole different animal. A ton of v-set characters have very specific roles that don't appear to work well in the format. Ah well, I just hope I pull Mace!

The Sealed games for the V-Sets are very interesting since you have so many new abilities but-as you said-they are designed more as helping pieces instead of standalone pieces it doesn't always match-up best. Hopefully with R&R it will be better since there are a few Pilot CEs and several Pilots in the set, making it easier to make use of those CEs.

Now, certain pieces will suck to get. Vader, while a cool figure, would not be the best since you can't make use of his Reserves or CE which does make up for a lot of his cost.

Yep, some will suck, but some will be great. I'm disappointed Celeste Morne won't be able to make Rakghouls, but oh well. For DotF sealed I pulled Joruus and Niles, and I won the Tournament, so it's not all bad. Bet you can't guess which one I used of the two.
