Just getting this thread started. We have the space now with the store rearangement. I think Matt Spry is going to get things moving for the regional here...but I made this thread so at least some of us can talk about it.

Charlotte Regional will be one of 3 dates.

May 14 (Least likely)

May 21

June 12

I am still waiting on official word out of Atlanta. I am trying to stagger it so ppl are free to attend the regionals in MD, VA, Atlanta, and Owensboro that would likely come to the Charlotte regional if that's what they want. Our store has done a massively huge remodel of it's facilities and now there are spots for at least 32 ppl to play and we can likely increase that space if it calls for it. I am excited at the work they have put into our store and I think it will be more than adequate to host the Charlotte Regional. I am now working on all of the details for Prize support so that we can make it the best regional we possibly can. I will need to get a copy of the new pairing software though if thats possible.

Matt

Matt,

You can get the pairing software right here. http://www.swmgamers.com/page.php?27

Ok, I am tentatively planning on June 12, 2011 for the Charlotte Regional. I need to work out the final details with my store and determine how they want to handle prize support with everything. Once I have it all laid out I will make it official, but for now its practically that way.

FYI, June 12th is a Sunday. Did you mean June 11th?

Talked to Matt.

June 11th is the offical date for the Charlotte Regional. Right now there's a tentative start time of 11am. We still need to verify with the owner, but I wouldn't think he would have a problem with that.

Obviously the ATL Krew will be there. I think we have me, Daniel, Greg, Nathan, and maybe a secret weapon as well. If you pay for our gas Daniel will play something really bad so you can brag about how your region ripped up the reigning champ!

Actually, here in Charlotte we have house rules that state that the home field gets a 50 point head start. ;)

Looks like Kris, Ian, and I will be down there barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Updating all of the info.

Cost of the event will be 15.00, the winner will recieve a 4-Day Badge to GenCon and a ticket to the championships. Other prizes will be available to everyone.

Registration will begin at 10:30am and hopefully we can get started as close to 11am as possible. We're really excited about having people at our venue and hope that this event will be a good one.

Any questions or concerns shoot me a pm and I will do my best to address them. I'll be judging the event also in case anyone is interested.

Just seeing if anyone from NoVA will be going so I can grab a ride. As a former denizen of the area, barring significant changes, you won't need a TomTom for me to get you there.

I'm pretty sure Roy, Kris, and Ian are going from NoVA Cory, so you might contact one of them.

I want to but, unless someone else is driving, I will have to sit this one out. Since the MD Regional, I have not spent a weekend in my own home for almost 6 weeks. In between stints in Accomac, VA for work, driving home to see my grandfather before he passed away, and between drives up to Fburg for my gf and the tournaments, I may just choose to relax. However, never say never. If it wasn't for the bloody restrictions on the Amtrak, I would be down there late Friday.

I'm in a similar boat as Cory. I didn't think it'd be possible for me to justify driving down to Charlotte by myself, but I've yet to find another way to carpool with someone else, and until I do, it looks like a no go for me.
