For those who might be interested:

I've added Taris Undercity and the Ossus Landing Platform, two rather hard-to-find maps, to my sci-fi map gallery at:
http://www.mapsofmastery.com/scifi.html

I'm not allowed to sell maps I've done for WotC and Lucasfilm, but I can freely display them in my portfolio; in this case, I've chosen to include a closer-than-usual view of these two maps, in PDF format:

Yes! Thanks Taris especially is nigh impossible to get. On an unrelated topic what is a good place to print PDFs onto posters? Haha

I haven't used GMSarli's map-printing service yet, myself, but I've heard good things:

At $8.87 for a custom-printed map and shipping, that's a steal! I'm ordering the Taris Undercity map as we speak.

What are the chances of getting a "closer-than-usual view" of the hardboard map?

Hmm. "Answer hazy" on that one; a complication is that I didn't do the limn lines on that map, and a copy without those lines wouldn't be terribly useful to you guys. And if I add them in, my justification for posting it becomes more questionable.

I'm not sure. I'll give it some thought... :)

cant you just flip and invert the imageof the map? or is that still an infringment?
can you take esisting maps, change some of the art and then say they are yours?

Heh...nope. At least, not with a company I hope to work with again in the future. ;-)

Maybe this is better as a private discussion, but how hard would it be to buy the rights to those maps from WotC, or for you to make alternate versions of some of those older maps?

Many of them have SW elements which makes it much tougher to "regain" the rights to work for hire. I'm pretty sure this was a work for hire type deal rather than licensing the art and there's just little getting around that once done.

Of course, if he put them on display for his own purposes without the linework, I think versions with linework would appear in the commity in short order...

A slight aside: I ordered a custom map from GM Sarli Games. Will let everyone know how good the quality it is when I have it in hand, so you guys can know if it's a viable service. ;)

I'm pretty sure the quality will be similar to what DARTH_TED used to do, and if so, I think you'll be pleased with them. The one thing we noticed was that they were VERY sucepible to moisure. The ink came right up, so you'll want to be either EXTRA careful about that, or get them laminated ASAP.

Just wanted to say Thank You for this. I had previously bought Ossus but had no luck on Taris so this really helps me out
