So I would like to thank Trevor aka thereisnotry for his quick and hard work to get this ready. He saved me from volunteering to do one more thing and really stepped up big time for the entire community to enjoy themselves.

You guys be sure and say thanks to Trevor when you get the chance.

Without further ado the link is up on the main page ready to be downloaded.

Check under the Gamers downloads under the Vassal mod tab. I have loaded this up and it works.

Also the Rules Glossary insert is ready for download also.

Destiny of the Force extension (version 1.0)
Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011
Prepared by: Trevor Payton, aka "thereisnotry"
Special thanks to: Jason Tanner, aka "Nickname" for coaching me through the process of creating this extension, and also to the V-set design team, who made what is arguably the best SWM set that this game has ever seen.

Description
This Vassal extension is for use with the SWMinis.mod, version 10.0. (There is no need to reinstall your current SWMinis.mod.) This extension adds the new minis from the Destiny of the Force (DotF) virtual set, developed by some dedicated members of SWMGamers.com.

I've used all of the Recommended Minis (RMs) for each of the DotF pieces. In order to help players recognize the difference between the RMs and the actual minis from which they're taken, I've horizontally flipped each of the DotF minis so that they're facing the opposite direction.

In addition, I've made some minor cosmetic adjustments to some of the minis, for the purpose of artistic flair, and also to further distinguish these minis from similar minis which might show up in their squads.
#5--The Revanchist: turned the Reborn's red lightsaber into blue...Revan didn't officially have a red lightsaber when he was with the Lightside.
#8--Darth Bandon: bent his arm at the elbow, so that it looks like he's Force Gripping someone.
#10--Exar Kun, Dark Force Spirit: removed his lightsaber and painted him bright green, just like on his card.
#12--Sith Inquisitor: removed the blade and shaft of his force pike, in order to match the image on his card.
#18--Poggle the Lesser: created a barely-perceptible crown on his head, to more closely resemble his look in the movies.
#20--Sora Bulq: turned his staff into a double-bladed red lightsaber; I would've made it a single-saber, but the pose wouldn't look quite right with that.
#22--Republic Commando Munitions Expert: painted a small, almost imperceptible, backpack on him, to hold his door explosives.
#23--Wedge's Snowspeeder: there's no way someone as cool as Wedge wouldn't have pimped out his own personal snowspeeder, right? So I added some paint around the windows.
#60--Yammosk War Coordinator: no cosmetic changes to this mini, but I thought I should mention that this is the first huge figure with a Commander Effect, so I created a new "CE-star symbol" for it.

These adjustments are a bit of an experiment, and I hope they are received as helpful and worthwhile.

EDIT: When you go to find your DotF minis, they won't be in alphabetical order with the rest of the minis. Rather, they'll be at the very bottom of their faction list. As far as I'm aware, there is no way to add minis from an extension into the regular listing of the .mod file. As future V-sets are released, we will be finding all of them grouped at the bottom of the list, just as these minis are. Thanks to Brad for reminding me to point this out.

Instructions
1. Download the "DotF 1.0 Vassal extension.zip" file the "Gamers Downloads" section of SWMGamers.com, as Dean described. This will give you a file called “DotF.zip.”
2. Navigate to your Vassal folder ("C:/Program Files/VASSAL" for most users), where your "SWMinis.mod" file is located. Make sure that your "SWMinis.mod" file is named exactly that. (Some users may see it as "SWMinis" without the ".mod" ending, and that's fine.)
3. In that very folder (where you see your “SWMinis.mod” file), create a new folder, and name it "SWMinis_ext." Now, at one glance in your VASSAL folder, you should be able to see your "SWMinis_ext" folder (unnopened), as well as your "SWMinis.mod" file. The folder must be named EXACTLY the same as the .mod file (plus the _ext addition), or it won't work.
5. Now open your SWMinis_ext folder, and paste the “DotF.zip” file into it.
6. Right-click on the DotF.zip file, and choose “Extract here” (using a free archiving utility such as WinRAR Archiver). The files will unload themselves into your folder.
6. Now you're good to go! Close the window and start Vassal as normal, and you will be able to use the DotF minis. Enjoy!

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM.

This is correct. There's no way to intermix them. So VSET minis will start (I'd assume alphabetically again once the next VSET is released) at the end of the list of WotC minis. This helps make a clear break between the WotC and custom stuff matching the reorganized map list in the 10.0 mod which always bugged me when it was intermixed.

That actually sounds like a very good way to do it. That will keep Vset stuff separate for those that don't want it.

Dean is a travel agent for guilt trips. Actually, I'm kidding lol. On the show last night, Dean said that he hasn't seen many people on Vassal lately. I've been meaning for some time to download this...I guess I just needed a kick in the butt. I downloaded it, and went on to Vassal to test it...but no one was there lol. It looks like everything is there, so thanks Tint, for all of your hard work. I'll be on to play soon.

Hi guys,
I downloaded the DotF extension that Trevor aka thereisnotry worked up for us. I've been in contact with him through PM's here trying to get it working. However, as of yet, no luck for me getting it working. I set up Vassal with Dean's pictured how to. Which works quite well and is updated. And I have Fool's SWM {CE} extension working as well. But still no DotF. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D Thanks again Trevor for all your help and with putting forth the effort in getting DotF on there for us to enjoy. Hopefully I'll get it working ASAP.

I can only add, your SWMinis_ext folder should look like:

Gotcha, thanks for the help Ruhk. :) The download gave me a file named DestinyForce.swm and a folder named DestinyoftheForce_Pics. So I'm guessing I should rename the DestinyForce.swm file to DotF.mdx? Sound right to you? Also, where would the folder with the pic's go? Thanks again for the help dude. :D

ah! you downloaded the wrong file!
You've got the files for MiniManager (uses DestinyForce & folder)

http://swmgamers.com/page.php?33

choose the bottom link 'Destiny of the Force Vassal Extension (1.0)'

and then follow Trevor's steps. :)

Bump, the vassal file has been updated to include the R&R miniatures. The file can be found here:

http://www.swmgamers.com/download.php?view.21

Many thanks to Trevor (thereisnotry) for his hard work on this!

Brilliant. And because it is both DotF and RnR, I am safe to delete the original DotF extension?
