Phew. Good to hear.

It has been nice having more traffic on this site. I hope that will continue.

Great to hear BlooMilk will be back soon Shinja! Not having access to your outstanding site makes me so much more appreciative of what you have put together for the community than what I previously realized!

Due to a misunderstanding, my database host deleted the Bloo Milk database on Wednesday morning 4/27/2011. I've been working with them non-stop since then to get things straightened out.

I'm currently working on restoring the database from a backup made on the day the site was taken down, so there should be minimal loss of data. ETA for the site to come back up is tomorrow morning 5/3/2011. I'm really sorry about the inconvenience for everyone.

Raced back to Hamburg with the intention of entering in lots of minis into my collection, but it is still down as of 8pm Germany time.

I would imagine there are some configuration hurdles to get over beyond just restoring the data, seeing as his host deleted the database outright. And then testing everything...

Well I hope they can get everything back up. Sounds like a lot of work to get it running again. :cry:

Well, the major hurdle so far is the size of the backup file. It's a 1.5GB file that I need to upload to my remote host's server, so that I can use it to restore the database. I kicked off the upload yesterday morning, and it said it would take 8 hours. It failed after 7 hours.

I restored the database to my local computer here and deleted some old copies of stuff that wasn't needed anymore, and managed to bring the file size down to 800MB. I just started another attempt at uploading it. It says 5 hours this time. We'll see what happens.

Bloomilk having been down this long sucks, but this whole ordeal reminds me of the scene in Empire Strikes Back where Han and Chewie were fixing the Falcon,
