Is this the one thats being released in the League Kit here shortly?

I really like the design on this one. It looks like it might have a couple of crazy long firing lanes, but thats just eyeballing it, so they might nick some corners here and there.

I would say you are right on both counts D1.

This certainly looks like it will be an interesting one to play on and Dean can finally find something new to gripe about.

Yeah, it's on the back side of the Listening (Rishi) Outpost map.

And the firing lanes are shorter than you'd realize. I actually think this is a REALLY solid map, and reminds me a small bit of Muunilist, but WITHOUT the long firing lanes that Muunilist has. I'm anxious to see how everyone else like this one.

The one I was noticing, and please forgive my vagueness as Im looking at this and drawing lines in Paint while at work, and I cant read the words on the map:

About 17 sqaures in from the left and 3 squares up from the bottom, putting you right above the lift or whatever it is near the middle on the bottom of the map. That can be drawn out that door above it, through the gambit area and up through the door thats about 12 squares from the right, and 2 squares down, in the little 4x2 room thats closer towards the center of the map.

Thats not really terribly far, and its not as bad doing the diagonal the other direction from the bottom, but it is kinda long.

Im not askin for anything to be redone with it or anything. The map is fantastic. This is just an observation, which as I said, might be wrong, as I could be drawing through a red line someplace that Im not seeing.

Matt and I really struggled with the layout for this map and when matt started to get burned out working on it (witness the original previews) he turned it over to me to finish. I ended up doing most of the artwork fresh at 300dpi so you'll find that this league kit is crisper looking than most of our older maps.

The first thing I did to the layout was make the outside hallways less of a deathtrap by adding the turbolifts and a better means to get to the center of the map at the midpoint.

Disturbed1's comments about long diagonal LOS are pretty accurate: this map will favor stealth shooter squads but there are a number of safe places to advance for both sides and some of the columns were tweaked specifically to block some of the longer LOS.

I'm really like the rishi map a lot, and the space port terminal is just a fun odd environment but it works for lots of scenarios, hostage negotiations, bomb squad search and destroy and prevent the killers from escaping onto the plane.

Look at that...

Yeah... kinda see what I mean about it being the most generic SWM map I've done so far?
