So just wanted to post this as a feeler. Who is open to a weekly/bi-weekly vassal tourney on Saturday nights?

I want to be the first person to yell out, "Live, from Vassal, it's Saturday Night!"

I think it would be great! I won't be able to play every time, but if I know there is some sort of organized play going on, then I'll make a strong effort to make it work as often as possible.

ok so a few people are interested.

Here was my plan. I have saturday's with nothing to do from about 5 to 10 PM EST. Lets do a 200 point weekly tourney on vassal starting at 5 and going however many rounds we have people for.

Regionals are right around the corner and we can get some really good practice and squad building ideas from this.

So does Saturday's 5ish to 10ish EST work for everyone?

5:00 ish is too early for me. 7:00 is the earliest I can do.

Other than that, I think everything would be great! :fight:

Our weekly local tournament alternates playing Saturday and Sunday, so on weeks that we play on Sunday I'm usually free all day Saturday and could do it. On weeks that we play on Saturday I'm usually not home until 6-6:30.

Ok so how is everyone with this?

Saturdays 7:00 PM EST - until on Vassal

3 rounds 75 min w/o skype 60 min with skype.

First week we will do 200 point constructed

How's that sound?

We can figure out something for the winner as we go along. It's always more fun with a goal or a prize. As of now I'm thinking the winner picks the format for the next week.

I think this would be a great way for guys who either lost their groups or dont have a closeby LGS to still get in some good competitive games. I'm glad we have some responce. If all this is good with everyone I'll crosspost on Bloomilk and D20 Radio to get some more guys to play.

That sounds good to me. I need the chance to start thinking about Regional squads, because I've literally played only 1 game in the past two months that hasn't been a R&R playtesting game lol.

That's better :D. I may be in from time to time though, depending on how long the RPG last.

Sorry, but every two weeks is both my DnD RPG and our SW one, falling on Saturday and Sunday Nights. Then every Friday I am out with the missionaries...leaves little date time with my wife.

First week of games. 200 Points.

First Place: 2-1 thereisnotry (Lancer/Destoryer)
Second Place: 2-1 Weeks (Mara Jade/MTB)
Thrid Place: 1-2 Joruus (Landspeeder Tank)
Forth Place: 1-2 Echo (GOWK/Atris)

thereisnotry has selected this format for next weeks games

format: Epic SWM (rules: normal squadbuilding rules, with the following restrictions: max of 3 CEs per squad, max of 16 acts per squad, no pieces which alter the # of acts per round, and no reinforcements)

Hope to see you guys next saturday at 7PM EST

Remember winner picks the format!

500 :D

Yeah, Weeks just copy/pasted the format info from the Vassal chat window. We had already mentioned the 500pt total earlier in that discussion, so I didn't include it in the squad building rules. This format was originally developed by Boris, and it remains to this day my favorite way to play SWM! :)

Any chance of a write up of the matches, thoughts on squad choices, etc. Always a good read.
