So ok since DOTF and even Bill is customizing.

I will show my stuff so far.

Image
Ok so Omega Squad. From left to right Fi, Atin, Niner and Darman. I first painted the t visor I used a tooth pick actually. I then left the rank pauldron on Niner and one of the gold forearm plates on Darman as that is just how I wanted them to look.

Image
The Black Sun Vigo. I painted his flight suit black and decided to leave the boots brown.

Image
Jaster Mereel. I followed some photos online. Most of them showed he only had one knee red... weird.

Image
for kicks and grins I repainted an ARC Trooper Red for Cpt Ordo Skirata. Painting his helmet and Kama was a pain in the butt.

More to come.

OK finished some more Customs

Image
Some Old Republic Tech Specialists. I went with Maroon because this is close to OR uniform color and works with the purple skin of the Mon Cal.

Image
The Jawa Chieftan. I went with a Tan overlay to make it look like he has a bit of a fancier hood on while staying in Desert mode.

Image
Niles Ferrier. Went with tan pants and dark green vest. Beard was rather easy.... decided not to try and add a cigar to the fig.

Very cool Dean. Those are all sorts of impressive.

Nice job Dean. I think it is really great that everyone is trying their hands at customizing these days. Once they get past the psychological barriers, it actually is not that hard and it really is fun and bodes well for the future of the V-sets. Personally, I'm glad SWM came prepainted because I'd never have the time to paint all the thousands I own, but since they are it is a perfect stepping off point.

Dean, its a shame you haven't started doing customs before now, because these paint jobs are great!

Thanks guys for the comments. I used to be big into painting world war 2 models when I was younger and so I know a few painting techniques but I figured it was something that would not work on these small suckers.

I find they are very small and catch myself with a small flashlight in my mouth so I can see clearly.... but it is fun. Understand though I am not the guy to cut stuff up. Luckily Nate has no such qualms so when I can get him to have time and sit down we will work on Revanchist and Sora Bulq which should be entertaining.

I also ordered several sep commandos for their heads (which look very mandolorian) and I have plans for them to be used with Mando CIO.

Actually, those are out of order. It's supposed to be Big Ten Go. I don't think he's finished with the 4th that has "Away"

Yeah, its hard to see the details (which unfortunately always show up on camera) without a bright light shining directly on the miniature. Fortunately I have a pixar-mascot-type lamp on my workdesk.

And tell Nate to wear a workglove on the hand he holds the mini with. I've got two scars on my fingers from one slip.

Separatist Commandos? I know, right? I'm surprised they weren't used for a Mando piece in DotF. I've already cut one up for the head of my Tactician, and I'm using the others as my Mandalorian Gunsmiths.

ok so I am up to having done 28 of the DOTF 60.

My wife has gone out of town and taken the camera so I will post pics of the new ones very soon.

I really like the paint job on my Revanchist. So i will post more as I get a camera back.

SO here are some more

Image
Admiral Palleon. I decided simpler was better and just added a goatee and white hair.

Image
So here is BEn Skywalker, Revanchist and Salacious. Ben I painted on a black vest and changed the boots to black giving him a GAG black and fatigues look. I also of course painted in some red hair. Revanchist I swapped out the lightsaber and then painted the tan dark brown. I also then went to the black to give a forboding look a soon to be Sith lord.

Image
OR Tactical Officer, Atris and The Sith Elite whatever. OR Tact has a slight camo job by me. Atris is straight forward also.

Image
Imperial Knight Master, Tusken Chieftan and Sora Bulq.

Image
Nen Yim. I did not do much to her other change some colors. I kind of felt since she was already modeled by WOTC I just wanted some difference between her and a shaper.

ok another couple

Image
The JEdi Seer and Mando CIO.

For the Seer we put on a Rodian head and painted the hands brown like he is wearing gloves.

For the CIO swapped the Sep Commando head out with Shadow Stormie.

They're pretty good. I really like your Ben Skywalker and the Revanchist. Also, that Mando CIO is cool, clever and very easy to do!
