I played in my first DCI sanctioned game and I'm ranked #627 in the world. :)

I wish I could play in DCI sanctioned games.

But the closest ones are over an hour away, and with family and all...

BTW, I also think SWM is way better than Magic. Though I do like them both. :)

I am starting to agree with you. My only problem is finding players in my area. Anybody know any good places in Minnesota to play? My area is drying up fast.

DCI website, tournament locater. It works wonders. Also, check the Release event listings. Most if not all of the stores hosting a release event have regular league stuff throughout the year.

I like both games, but as of late, I've been paying more attention to SWM.

Do I have a favorite? Not really. Both are good games, and I am decently good at both.

I hate to say it, but Magic is more expensive than SWM. You need at least 4 of each card for a set, that's at least 800 cards each set.

Very expensive, that's why SWM is better.

That plus there's three sets a year and they rotate out the blocks so just when you're done with what's out you can't use it any more. I quit playing Magic years ago because I couldn't keep up. On the plus side my old Magic stuff paid for a good chunk of my SWM.

Really.. there two different beasts. and tbh.. I've spent WAY more on mini's then i ever did comparatively on MTG.

Magic depends on what format you play. is it vintage or standard, maybe extended. I stopped playing mainly due to time and main game day is friday, a bad day for me.

But then I'll drift in my "focus game" what i'm playing heavily, depending on what i can find in players locally. IE right now i'm playing a new ccg out cuz the swm scene locally is dead quiet.

Course I also gave up on my completest compulsions long ago

Agreed; that's why this isn't Magicgamers.com I've played a few times and liked it, but this game just brings out the joy of gaming.

Like with SWM, in my local magic circle, players don't use competative decks or keep up with standard. Just whatever we please to use. 8)

My old Magic stuff is still gathering dust in my room.

Gotta sell it soon...
