Something Dreadtech pointed out to me the other day, the Junk Golem would appear to harm itself every time it attacks. It has Splash 10 with Melee, but can roll for Shields.

Interesting combination of abilities, but will it see play?

Makes sense to me - the "Junkyard Dog" is held together with bubble gum and baling wire, so it slowly shakes itself apart as it attacks.

It's a great Kazdan reinforcement because it only costs him 22 points so you can bring in a Probe, a Security BD, or a pair of BD's too. This is a good play if you win initiative and also get reinforcements, since you should be able to set up an immediate Ambush pretty easily.

I think it's a special purpose piece. The Crab Droid is a better choice for your day-to-day 23-point droid needs.

I think I will be one to use it, I love Droid squads, and as you say perfect for Kazdan.

Or an R5 to fix the damage when it misses the shield save.

I'll play the Junk Golem. It is pretty freakin good as an anti-swarm option, and its attack can be jacked up very high with other droids that Kazdan can bring in. It is a nexu that is playable outside of a kun squad, only it's huge and with better abilities.

I agree Splash is kinda silly for it, but I still think it's a cool fig to play, so I'll play it if there are huge-friendly maps to play on. I think setting up a Splash Ambush would be really fun to pull off.

Depends. If Kazdan is in base then the Junk Golem is a must, if he's farther away then you want the Crab Droid.

If you're within 8 squares and you roll a 5,10,15,or 20, then bring in the junk golem. Or just bring one in when Kazdan is under fire, and your opponent doesn't have accurate shot. A junk golem is a good meat sheild.

Otherwise, a crab droid is more appropriate.

I agree an R5 would be good.
I don't think he will see a lot of play, one he is a huge two he is a droid.
However, since kazdan is coming out I think he might see at least a little play.

With Shields 1 and Splash, I think the Golem is quite comparible to a Crab Droid. I know I will try a few out with Seps.

Doesn't really matter since Kazadan is pretty much made for fun games where you can bring out hordes of crappy droids without worrying about losing by points. The Junk Droid will be perfect for games like that.
