For Star Wars roleplaying, which sculpt of which uniques do you feel are best?

I think Id use Darth Sidious in place of Emperor Palpatine, since in most instances, you probably wouldnt end up fighting him.
For Vader, maybe Lord Vader or bobblehead, as they probably have the least lame poses of the Vaders.
Boba Fett, probably Mercenary.
Mace, probably the Shatterpointer.
Obi-Wan (CW era), probably RotS starter piece
Anakin, probably the one from the map pack
R2, probably the RS one.

Most of the Rebels would probably depend on where they were going to be encountered, or what time during the saga they are encountered in.

So, whats your choices?

Haven't played any campaigns yet where we ran into already established characters in the canon. I find I have a hard time weaving those sorts of characters into the story. I'll have to give it a try at some point though. Could be pretty cool to have your characters come across a smuggler and not reveal who he is for a while. See if the players can work out that it's actually Han Solo.

Yeah, that would be cool. I played in an online SWRPG game a few years ago, and we later discovered that we had survived an assassination attempt by Aurra Sing! It was cool.

I was going to say I use some custom models for RPG, whenever it happens, which is barely, but I have yet to run a campaign and bring in named characters either, I think it takes something away and can be distracting to the players

Boba BH is by far the best looking Boba, in my opinion.

When we used to do the RPG back at college there weren't many sets out I think we got as far as Universe or Champions of the Force.

But I used to use a Geonosian Soldier from CS as a Gand Scoundrel. not perfect but at least it looked pretty cool.

and in reference to actual characters, the only time we ran into one was Dash Rendar. we were at a space port trying to steal a ship and failed the roll on what we later found out was the Outrider. Instead we grabbed some other freighter. So technically we didn't really see Dash.. but almost... hehe

but if we were still playing when Bh came out I'd have obviously switched in a Zuckuss immediately

I had one with set fudgingly between ROTS, FU and NH.
Vader, Shaak-ti (never actually came into it because of their game choices) and Palps and a Crazed Palps Clone.

Wasnt too distracting. Players could control Vader at certain points but he had pre-sets on what he must do in certain situations. He could not be in cover, always attacked...that sort of thing.

Ok, how about 'which mini would you use to represent a unique SW character in a roleplaying game?'

Does that work better? IF you dm had you fight Vader/ Boba/ whoever, which model do you think would work the best or be the coolest for the piece being used?

Hmm...for Boba...definitely either Merc Commander or the old RS one. Vader, probably depends on the situation. I still really like the ROTS pose but Vader DJ is hard to beat too.

RS Palpatine is obviously the best there, but I do like using CS Sidious anytime I need a shadowy character that the PCs aren't supposed to recognize.

I used Garm Bel Iblis as a generic noble type guy recently, and that worked real well.

Um...let's see, what else....Luke...almost certainly Luke Jedi from KOTOR. Han, probably Smuggler or Scoundrel. Leia...Cloud City is a good one or probably Leia Diplomat.

ive never played SWRPG before; but it sounds fun. Is it possible (and/or fun) to play SWRPG with only two players?

it can be done, but it wouldn't be nearly as exciting. even just one more person makes it a ton more fun.

Fool's SWM Campaign Edition RPG system is better designed for only 2 players. I'd check that out.

Yeah, Fool's SWM: Campaign Edition is a lot of fun to play, and very easy to run (as GM). I highly recommend it.

Here are the minis I'd use:
Boba: Boba Mercenary Commander (Mandalorian)...I just love that pose
Vader: Lord Vader, or possibly Dark Jedi or the RotS Vader, or Scourge. Really, lots of the Vaders are great, once they got past the dancing poses. I'd probably use one of the minis for conversations (Dark Jedi), and another one for combat (Scourge or LV).
Palpatine: either the RS version or Darth Sidious...though the Palpy-chair sculpt is awesome if the setting is right.
Mace Windu: General Windu, or else the CS version (depending on how dynamic I wanted him to be)
Obiwan: either Jedi Master, or GOWK, depending on era
Anakin: Jedi Knight or the map-pack version...although General Skywalker is pretty sweet too
Aurra Sing: definitely the CS version
Darth Maul: definitely the CS version
Han: RS Han or Han Smuggler
Leia: Slave Leia!!!! Or if she has to have normal clothes on, then either the RS version or the Diplomat Leia

I could go on forever, so I'll stop there.
