I have no idea where to start using minis. Darktroopers are probably a good start...

I don't really gravitate towards one faction in particular, I like to play them all, so I'm sure I'll want to try all the figures in this set at least a couple of times. Although there are still some figures from older sets I'm still working on getting to try out in a game. I still haven't tried either the Trooper with the E-Web or Atgar, or the Gonk. I supposed I don't like fielding slow figures unless it's Jabba, lol.

If I had to choose, I think the Republic would be my favourite as they've got the most Jedi. Shaak Ti's one of my fave characters too, so I'm hoping I get her in one of my cases as I'd probably want to try her out first.

I give new minis a rating of 1-5, with 5 being probably competitive, 4 being maybe competitive, 3 being interesting, 2 being eh, and 1 being just plain bad.

I gave 29 out of 60 a preliminary rating of 4 or 5. That's pretty good.

The 5's are:
Luke Skywalker and Yoda - crazy Force powers but still a follower!
Master Kota - high defense, great CE, renewal and a crazy Force power
Darth Vader, Unleashed - nice value-priced Vader with incredible ranged offense
Shaak Ti, Jedi Master - maybe as good as two JWM's?
Garm Bel Iblis - great new tricks for NR and Rebels too
Luke Skywalker, Hoth Pilot Unleashed - obvious.
Rebel Trooper on Tauntaun - cheap Recon for the Rebels and NR, and Garm provides a new way to bring it in only when needed.
Admiral Ozzel - obvious.
Rebel Vanguard - obvious.
Muun Tactics Broker - obvious.
Juno Eclipse - cheap accurate, I'd play her even without Disruptive.
Caamasi Noble - surely this oddball piece will find work as a Reinforcements choice.
Raxus Prime Trooper - the Stormtrooper just got bested. Comparable stats + Wall Climber for the same price, nice boost for B&B and many other squads.

The 4's are:
Darth Revan - may boost Bane or Kun back into competitiveness in 200.
Kazdan Paratus - never ending droids, my only worry is you're giving your opponent lots of points to kill.
Felucian Warrior on Rancor - team it up with a Force battery and reroll those Parries forever!
Maris Brood - great new Fringe follower, will see use w/many factions.
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Unleashed - time to retire RS Obi.
PROXY - I can't wait to pair him with Dead Obi and Master Kota.
Uggernaught - just looks like fun. I'm sure San Hill can find a use for Furious Assault.
Junk Golem - great with Kazdan if unleashed at just the right moment.
K-3PO - cheap swap for Rebels? Sign me up.
Felucian Stormtrooper Officer - obvious.
Ugnaught Demolitionist Boss - Ugg Bombs will be great, depending on how they interact with the Tactics Broker.
Evo Trooper - actually a better trooper than the Elite Snowtrooper if you can spare another point.
Elite Hoth Trooper - still the best Rebel trooper choice.
Verpine Tech - Great way to enhance a lot of marginal pieces, and a few competitive ones like Mara Jade, Jedi and the Bith Vigo.
Mynock - an expendable "true flight" character for swapping (assuming it's a medium base) and/or Transfer Essence
Stormtrooper - still a good Imp trooper choice, though the Raxus is better.
