@Leshippy - would it be fine for me to share this kind of template with others who are asking it?

Thanks

If you are going to share those Abiwan, at the very least, please remove the SWMGamers logo from them. That way it's more obvious right away that they aren't official DOTF cards.

I think we may need to add something about Custom cards into the floor rules. Especially when it comes to the usage of "SWMgamers.com". It's absence makes it clear to the opponent that it's custom, and thus can more easily have a judge verify it.

It also makes it easier for us to throw out warnings and DQ's. I'd hate to throw out warnings and such simply for the use of "SWMGamers.com" but at the same time it keeps the game and players a little more on the right/fair track.

Well, just like any other instance of customization, the way it is worded in the Floor Rules currently, you must have the original card on hand if the judge requests it. So, if people want to print out the DOTF PDF from the site here, but then add their own graphic from the back, that would totally be fine. But if you take Abiwan's template there, and put all the info on it, even it's the same as the official printed/PDF cards, I would still, as a judge, request to see an 'official' copy of the card in some fashion.

In the end, so long as the stats are the same, it really doesn't matter. It just puts more work on the judges. Something that judges should plan to have on hand for events is a print out of the PDF in their back pockets so they can easily whip it out and compare it to someone's card if there is a question about whether a card is legal or not.

I really don't get it. Why do you guys think its ok to just doctor Les' images and try to make an exact copy to make your own cards? Seriously, this was the exact issue that made the question about the legality of home printed cards an issue. It's way to easy to just make your own "adjustments" to a card.

If you want to make your own back of it, that's fine, it's silly, but it's fine if you want. But do something different. Don't just steal the Gamers image. Make it clear what you have done, and for the love of God, remove the "Gamers" logo...

There seems to be no point to duplicating the front design of Les's cards. I mean, if you're going to create your own customs why not make them look like WotC cards vs Gamers cards? Making other customs that mimic the Gamers design can only lead to confusion (though I think outright cheating is still a total non-starter of an issue.)

I see no problem with a custom back to use on the PDF prints that approximates Les's design, though it would be good form not to include the Gamers logo on custom backs.

I can understand the wanting of Template formats, but I really think that the Gamers Templates in General, should be left alone.
For customizing your own graphics, just use what programs you have installed on your computer.
I agree that it could be a problem when it comes to tournaments, it would be very easy to just add another small ability that wouldnt be all that obvious to the naked eye.
So, as far as having custom cards, you should use your own custom templates. just my Opinion anyway.
