So here it is a week after and I am already starting the planning phase.

I plan on having next year:

Champs

SSB Champs

V-Set SEaled

Jedi Challenge

Mystery Map

Team Tournament

Tile Wars (maybe expanding to two tourneys)

Dynamic Duos (2 again)

at least 4 mass battles but under one set of play rules

Ongoing RPG each evening for at least 2 hours a pop

LEague Play may end up being dropped.

Anyone got anything else they can think of?

If we expand Tile Wars to 2 along with DD, I'd definatley like to see one of each incoporated into the Jedi Challenge. Make any constructed we have a little less grueling.

If I have time, I could make one into 3D, but it's not going to be for mass (talk about time consuming)

Are we not going to try a old school tournament(RS-ROTS/UH)?

I'd like to. Here, we had been running just RS-ROTS, but it seemed like a lot fo guys favored adding UH, so I've been playing around with those combos some still.

Have Mini's Manager make random 200 point squads instead of sealed events.

Im not putting down your idea, just wondering how you think that might work exactly? Would you have whoever is running the tourney print out the fig lists for players who sign up early, or would each player be handed his/her fig list right before the tourney?

It's not a finished idea just a way to have the randomness of sealed but with the figs that are out now. I've played it with some friends and it's a lot of fun and you see some really strange teams. :Ewok:

How will the V-set sealed work? Since you have no clue what you're going to get, I figure you're not going to provide the minis to play so it means each participant will need to bring 60-100 "suggested" minis to choose from (all suggested for unique and some extra for the non-uniques in case you pull 2). Or will you allow them to use any mini to represent the character for the sealed only? I can definitely see it being a problem and some people not wanting to participate due to the hassle of having to carry a large amount of unknown minis with them to the event.

V-set sealed will use proxies, that should be obvious :) ANd no, you won't need to bring your whole collection to it to participate.

WOOOO!!!!! GENCON!!!!!!

Mystery Map was a fun tourney, maybe we can fit the Jedi challenge into one day or something. Prob dont have that much time to do it all then but it would get one big leg of tourneys out of the way and make room for other days to be devoted to whatever.

So what are the chances that Matt could make 4 mystery maps and have two tourneys?

Or possibly Matt makes 2 and Chris West makes 2?

Although, do we really want 2 Mystery Map tournaments? I know it was the most popular event this year, and it really was a ton of fun, but the weekend is already so packed.... Maybe if the Jedi Challenge gets cut down (even if we just do shorter time limits for the lesser point values) it could get fit in.

Well first of all, as far as I know, Dean plans to have Chris make the mystery maps this year (as an alternating thing for both map creators). I think people have forgotten that part for some reason.

It makes more sense to me to have one of the map creators (perhaps Matt if Chris is doing MM), make a map for a Mass battle. Ray made great use of the Mos Eisely maps this year, and I think if anything would benefit from a new map, it would be a mass battle option.

I definitely think that besides the Champs all the other major type events should be in the eveing time (JC type stuff) and have the fun stuff during the day DD/mass battles/tile wars/etc.

I take this as a great compliment, Bill.
Also, someone creating a special map for a Mass Battle would be a-maz-ing! Who do I contact? I have ideas already brewing in my mind!

Also, the return of the custom contest must occur! However, I believe that there should be different categories (OT, PT, Expanded Universe, etc.) to spice it all up.

at this point I am thinking the mystery map could evolve into. Mapmaker and JC each contributing a 2 sided map. Then for every round we play change the map. So you get one shot on each map.

Does anyone like that? 4 Round 4 different maps?
