I apologize if this is already answered someplace else, but I searched the forum, couldnt find it anywhere in the Glossary the Errata or the FAQ (all off the holocron).

So, tonight we are doing a "no human/clone/droid, all your pieces must be of the same race, no faction restrictions" tourney.

I came up with the idea of running Merumeru with a pair of WFFs and the Wookiee Hunter ATST.

The glossary says any character with Wookiee either in the name, or with the ability, counts as a wookiee. To me, this says I could play it, though I want to make sure there hasnt been a ruling passed down someplace that says the ATST doesnt count as an actual wookiee.

So, anyone know? Thanks in advance!

Swinefeld, if you see this, please dont tell anyone. I wanna see the surprised looks on peoples faces, lol.

The Wookiee Hunter AT-ST does count as a Wookiee, he's a great bodyguard for Yoda RotS.

For game effects that affect characters with Wookiee in their name this piece is affected but that doesn't necessariliy mean the character is a going to meet the requirements to be allowed in this custom format. You should check with the tourney organizer before assuming it can be used to avoid arguments and last minute disappointment.

@Disturbed1 - Your secret is safe with me. I see no reason to forgo the standing rule on this. Besides, your the TO. :P

Now I have to figure out how to get around that DR10. Good luck with your map rolls. ;)

Good to know. Thanks for the quick answers. While I agree with the concern over the arguements, I'm generally, as Swinefeld said, the TO, so itll be ok, lol. If anyone does care, I'll take the auto loss.

Besides, who says it isnt a wookiee driving the thing anyway?

Ahh...the joy of screwy formats: trying to find the most off-the-wall or ridiculously broken combo you can come up with. :P

One of my TILE WARS squads has a wookiee hunter AT-ST (Brought in w/ old Gree) along with Tarpals and Deliah Blue. DOUBLE net gun 16!!! And then double industrial repair 60 to get him back up to speed. :) Finish the team off with Bossk BH for double flamethrower 20 and a couple of wookie elite warriors for the 40 hp smack from 12 away (melee reach 2 to smack those commanders in the back). Oh and I also have a wookiee trooper who gets the +2 movement at the end of the turn as per Gree. So he can run in to kill (and cleave) and back out 2 squares after, to leave room for the elite warriors.

Fun stuff. It's great to activate a whole squad, and then pick them apart.

The Irony is the Wookiee Hunter was for Hunting Wookiees not for being used by them. This one was specifically designed from the force unleashed and driven by an Imperial, Ozzik Sturn.

Yea, I think it probably gets played more by Wookiee based squads than by Imperial squads, lol.

Im not really expecting to do well tonight, I just wanted to make sure it was still allowable by the 'name makes it a wookiee' rule.

You could always say a Wookiee commandeered this AT-ST a la Chewie in RotJ ;)

So I played it. Went 1-2 for the night, but took an Auto-Loss for all three matches anyway.

Lost to a pair of Uggernaughts with Ugo Tech support along with a pair of Droid Destroyers.

Lost to a pair of Felcors w 3 Felucians.

Beat some Whiphids and Kkkkruhkkkkk, though not by much.
