I was trying to cone up with a more mobile GMY squad. GMY is my favorite Mini but his biggest drawback has nothing to do with his stats or powers it is his name, which stops you from playing the Republic's best trick in YoBuck.

So I really liked Lou's GMY squad, the HP and defenses are staggering on that squad, the only issue it had in my test games with similar versions was mobility.

So, I came up with:

GMY 55
AniSTAP 35
Dash 28
JWM 26
R2 9
Mas 8
4xUgos 12
173

Now withe final 27 points I was debating between JWM/Ferus. Lobot would be a decent plug in but I need more damage in the squad.

So map would be Bespin or Ravaged base.

I am not sure AniSTAP is the right answer but he can hit the majority of tech pieces (or just rebel guys like Crix, ERC, Juno, even Luke) even through disruptive at a 50% or better clip.

Thoughts?

I think Ferus is better in this.

Yeah, I'd definitely go with Ferus over the 2nd JWM.

My only problems with squads like this is that you get pretty well hosed if you run up against a squad like Engineer's Droid Swarm. You'd have to completely rely on Anakin making a lot of hits on his first strafe pass. The 2nd JWM would be helpful against Lancer builds too though. NR with Kyle is always tough with builds like this, though Dash helps with that some. I think I like this better overall compared to Lou's 3 JWM variant. Anakin gives you that added oomph and range that you need against the high activation Rebel/NR/Droid squads in order to take out the activation fodder and even the game up a bit.

It is a really tough choice but I am leaning towards Ferus as well.

Any thoughts on map choice?

Well to be fair, Lou didn't really worry about it. He simply ran at you and attacked, so having added range wouldn't have mattered. If you want to play the squad differently, then it makes sense. Personally, I like Anakin on Stap, and use him a lot with GOWK and GMY. Ferus is also a good choice and I would run that instead of 2 JWMs. Although I would actually consider not running Dash and going with both. No reason not to keep the Beef, that's actually what made the squad work for Lou. I think I would either keep Dash or Anakin, not both and go with the 4 jedi.

Good point bill, I think I like this better:

GMY 55
AniSTAP 35
Ferus 27
2xJWM 52
R2 9
Mas 8
186

Now finishing it is interesting. Either:

R7 8
2xUgos 6

or

Rodian 5
3xUgos 9

I must admit dual override seems very worth it.

And map would be either Bespin or Throne Room I think.

Double override option. R2 will need to be sacked in many games, having back up will help with that.

Also, if your opponent isn't careful, you can often strafe their door control and lock them out. Good reason to have it.

Double override can be nasty. So double override.
