"I never expect a warm welcome, why do you think I keep him around?" Dorian smiles a little and nods to Skad. Dorian turns to Cander and walks up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Whispering "It's alright, we work for the swoop guys remember? Worse comes to worse we say we are going to hit the hutt and score big off his stockpile. If they show up we might even get a hand and kill two birds with one stone." He turns back to the prisoner. "Take me to your leader." He smiles and bows.

Raden is clearly terrified of what awaits him at the palace, but he is also afraid of the heroes, and as such he does not make any escape attempts. The Devaronian has a speeder that can fit six passengers, and he wastes no time in zooming through the bridge city, weaving in and out of ruined buildings and taking shortcuts through the rubble. The trip to Darga’s palace takes half an hour, and Raden’s winding course leads the heroes into a dense cluster of buildings that blocks out their view of the Cato Neimoidian sky.

As the heroes approach Darga’s palace, they see that it is cleverly hidden among the ruins of several destroyed Neimoidian palaces. In fact, on first approach, there seems to be nothing of importance in the area. But on closer inspection, it becomes clear that the Hutt’s palace is cobbled together from former Neimoidian estates. The entrance to the palace is a pair of massive blast doors, 5 meters tall and carved with elaborate Hutt runes, set into the front wall. The doors appear to be unguarded.

Raden walks timidly up to one door, which has a small communications panel. He presses a button, sputters some phrases in Huttese
Spoiler: show
“This is Raden. I’ve come to deliver news to the mighty Darga. With all due respect, I require an audience.”
and steps back, fidgeting nervously. A long, quiet moment passes before two Nikto with hunting blaster rifles appear on battlements above the doors, weapons at the ready and pointed down at the visitors. A metal panel in the blast door scrapes as it is pulled aside, and a pair of glowing red eyes appear in the slit. A gravelly voice echoes from within the doors, again in Huttese
Spoiler: show
“You’re in for it now, Raden. Darga is expecting visitors, all right, but those creatures are not them.”
and the panel slams closed. A moment later, there is a heavy clank of metal on metal, and the blast doors part to either side. A rush of cold, dry air flows outward from the Hutt’s palace, and Raden motions the heroes to follow him inside.

Entering the palace, there is no sign of who or what might have owned the glowing red eyes seen through the door panel. The heroes follow Raden down a long, dark hallway illuminated at seemingly random intervals by torches set in sconces on the walls. Anyone passing through this hallway, including the heroes, feels that something is watching them from the darkness. Unmarked metal doors are set into the walls at various points, and the air is thick with the smell of dust and rotting wood.

Moving deeper into the palace, the heroes get the sense that the building was once bright and beautiful. Eventually, Raden leads the heroes toward the soft sound of music and voices, which come from the Hutt’s throne room.
Darga’s throne room is both opulent and repulsive. A thick layer of oddly scented smoke drifts through the air, rising out of braziers in the corners of the room. Once-beautiful tapestries line the walls, though most of them have been torn, burned, or stained to the point that they are almost unrecognizable. A raised dais in the center of the room supports the massive bulk of Darga the Hutt, and behind his dais a large, open balcony seems to extend into darkness.

Image

When Warrick Raden leads the heroes into the room, the sounds of conversation and music come to a halt. Silence reigns as every eye turns to watch Raden lead the visitors into an open space in front of the opulent dais. Darga’s eyes roll from the heroes to Raden, then sharpen quickly with anger. He booms something in Huttese at the Devaronian
Spoiler: show
“What is the meaning of bringing outsiders here?”
who immediately begins groveling, of begging for the Hutt’s forgiveness as the rest of the court hoots with laughter and derision. Darga cuts him off with a harsh word
Spoiler: show
“Silence!”
and calls for his protocol droid, TC-663. From this point on, Darga begins addressing the heroes directly, using TC-663 as a translator.

Darga’s giant eyes rest on them all for a long moment before the Hutt demands to know why they have come to his palace and how they convinced Raden to escort them.

Clearing his throat and taking a slight bow Nuuhatyc speaks to Darga throught the droid translator in basic "Oh mighty Darga , we apologize for the abruptness of our visit and beseech you that you hear our lucrative proposal that we wish to present to you and forgive our intrusion upon your festivites here today. The financial opportunity before all of us is what convinced Raden to lead us to make contact with the mighty Hutt syndicate here on Cato Neimoudia. I do believe that both parties will profit from this venture that my friend Dorian here *I motion to Dorian * will provide detail about."

Without the droid translating, Darga shifts his attention to Dorian. While Six-Six's electronic eyes narrow to a slit as his attention focuses on the Houk.

Elanor cradles her new grenades as they situated themselves in the speeder. She smiles from ear to ear as they weave through bridge city.

When they finally get to their destination she puts her grenades away and catches up to Dorian.

I don't know what it is... but this palace is giving me a weird vibe.

As he and his companions are being led into and through Darga's palace, Cander takes note of the guards; their positions and what they are armed with.

Cander
as you enter Dagar's court you notice 12 Gamorrean guards, 2 stationed at each entrance into the room, three bounty hunters, mingling in the crowd, 3 Quarren that have the eyes of killers, and a Neimoidian that is acting as an adviser to Darga. There are approximately 20 other members in the court that do not appear to be dangerous.

Avran sensing that his presence is being searched, he quickly attempts to block his presence using experience gained from other similar attempts.

In Huttese
Spoiler: show
"Do forgive my subordinate, he is...unaccustomed to the order of introductions. I am Dorian Evern and I have come before you to seek a mutually beneficial agreement. I am a weapons trader by profession and I couldn't help but notice the ill equipped nature of your men."

Dorian motions to Raden then continues

Spoiler: show
"Our superior weaponry is how we managed to convince your subordinate to grant us an audience. But I digress, I have access to various weapons and equipment that is, shall we say, hard to come by in today's markets."

He motions to Elanor's grenade launcher and his own blaster. Huttese still

Spoiler: show
"I am also able to acquire licensing at a great discount to help you avoid any, Imperial troubles should they arise."

Dorian pauses for a moment and looks around the room
Quote:
Perception check on the room.8+18=26

In basic. "Now, your men seem quite capable" He again motions to Raden "him included, so I can only assume they are being outclassed by the local mercenaries and their superior weapons. As such, I propose a weapons demonstration. My men and I will head out from here and destroy your local troubles, in exchange you will cover what information we are shorted in their location and hide any information on our movements in the area. Unlimited access, you might say, to the bombed areas of town. After we have completed our demonstration, acquiring any proof you require, we can begin negotiating price and quantity desired."

Darga chuckles out loud than answers in Huttese
Spoiler: show
"A weapons dealer? Do you have any wares available for testing or only the ones you carry?"
as he speaks his focus shifts from Dorian to Warrick and then back to Dorian.

Dorian replies in Huttese

Spoiler: show
"I have examples of what I carry among us, I am not foolish so foolish as to carry enough weaponry around to attract attention to myself. Only what I can easily explain away as personal property. It would be unwise to do anything else in these times. Delivery arrangements would be standard unmarked crates we unload from the local space port."

Dorian smiles, still in huttese

Spoiler: show
"and with the lack of a port guard, smuggling would be easy. It is the acquisition of said weaponry that is being sold here, not so much the delivery fees associated with this kind of transaction. You can have any of your men come with us while we test as well, it would be pointless if we simply killed the enemy without any witness to the weapons effectiveness."

Darga's face distorts into what you believe is a smile and answers,
Spoiler: show
"A demonstration then. We will kill two mynock with a single stone. I need this worms betrayal punished and I would like to see the capabilities of these weapons. Kill Warrick for his actions then we will discuss buiness over dinner."

At Darga's words Warrick begins groveling on the floor, apparently begging in Huttese
Spoiler: show
"Mighty Darga, FORGIVE YOUR SERVANT!"

Nuuhatyc then speaks to Darga "As you wish."

My character walks over to Warrick and quickly strikes using K'tara techniques to stun him and silence him (basically I want to make him appear to be dead as he will have barely a pulse and he won't say much since his vocal cords aren't working)

Slumping the limp body of Warrick over my shoulder I speak again to Darga "If you will excuse me, I will take the body outside and dispose of it so as to prevent his rotting flesh from spoiling my appetite."

Six-Six nodes to Darga then says, "If you have killed him that was only half of the request. Mighty Darga also asked for a weapons demonstration. And leave the body, one of the Guard will take care of it."

Ok, this is tentative depending on one thing. Is the translator droid actively translating what Darga and I are talking about, even though we are talking in huttese? Because if not, trevor is going to have to change his post as he doesn't speak huttese. Including thoughts for the dm's sake and insight into motivation.

Great, now we will either be found out or that poor sap will wake up to himself being devoured by god only knows whatever pet this hutt keeps. Dorian shakes his head a little, in Huttese.
Spoiler: show
"Actually, Darga, my subordinate there was demonstrating a pair of shock boxing gloves with a lethal, and illegal, modification. However, he is rather out of place as those are not the surplus military gear I am offering, nor do they give much of a show."

Dorian glares at Nuuhatyc for a second before continuing in huttese.
Spoiler: show
"This is a DT-12 heavy blaster pistol. It is, I'm sorry was, special issue for specific clone units during the war."

Dorian draws his blaster pistol and displays it for the hutt. Continuing in Huttese.
Spoiler: show
"These blasters are much more powerful than the standard blasters your men have. They are also much more specific in their targeting and blast patterns than your blasters."

Dorian walks up to Nuuhatyc and rests the barrel of the pistol against the back of Warrens head. While Warren is still slung over Nuuhatyc shoulder, Dorian levels the blaster so Warrens head and Nuuhatyc chest are both in the blasters path. at least he is knocked out, he won't feel anything like this. He then pulls the trigger. As with most blasters, when the bolt hits its target the energy dissipates before harming Nuuhatyc, it does, however, make a mess of Warren's head. In a soft tone to Nuuhatyc "stop doing unnecessary things, you will be paid just the same when we are done." He raises the pistol slightly to point it at Nuuhatyc's head this time. "And if you mess up to badly you will look like the man you are carrying. Now put that thing down so Darga's guards can deal with the remains." He then turns to Darga again and continues in huttese.
Spoiler: show
"As you can see, the damage is sufficiently better than the standard model pistol. Now, Elanor there."

Dorian motions to Elanor's weapons. Continuing in huttese.
Spoiler: show
"Her weapons are much more...messy. If you would like a demonstration of those we should head outside. Either way, I hope this demonstration was more to your liking."

Dorian places his pistol back in his holster and bows a little to Darga.

Is there a cheap cup laying around some where? If so, I want to take a swig of some ale that's available.

After Cander finishes his drink, he asks for one of Darga's henchmen (or henchwomen) to assist him by taking the glass he just drank from and toss it in the air away from everyone.

Quote:
Assuming that Darga allows it and that there is a volunteer, I will take the following actions:

With his guns holstered, Cander waits for the glass to be thrown and quickly draws one of his blasters (using the combination of his Quick Draw feat and the specialized customization of his blaster) to shoot the glass out of the air before it hits the ground.

Quote:
I'll use a Destiny Point to ensure I hit the glass and to anyone/thing else

Cander reholsters his pistol and remarks, "If speed, accuracy and flare are more of your style, we can also make such accomodations." Cander then rejoins his companions and proceeds to look bored.
