Sorry, it has been a long day. So I just want to clarify that the house rule is that you cannot charge a character you take a 5' step away from. I will have to address your comments and concerns at a later time.

I am not moving away. I am moving forward or at them there is a difference.
I moved straight and two squares or sidways and two squares both times I was moving forward or at them. I was not trying to run away from. I was moving to get extra power to my attack. By RAW and in real life it makes sense.

If I was trying to move away and then charge thats one thing But I am moving at them or forward to get extra power.

Another example

James is fighting Lou.
Lou has a little space between James and takes a step side ways and then takes a litte jump to strike him in the face for a knock out punch. (this is skad moving a square sideways,2 squares in the rpg)

Did Lou move away from combat? NO

There are two guys on on each side of lou. Lou runs forward to strike the guy on his right. He moved forward to strike the guy on his right. The guy on his left would get an aoo but he did not move away from him. He moved way from the guy on his left but did not attack him with charge. He(right) knocks him out then hits the other guy on his left(Cleave when I get it with all the charging bonuses from the first attack by the saga rules) This pretty much shows that he still had a little extra power in his punch from the movement he got with the first strike.

Again all I want to show is that he can take on more than one guy at a time and use movement/fear in others to show that. By my thinking he is not running away from combat but at it. Some times he would give up an aoo if there are two guys by him but he would move forward at the guy he is attacking not away.

Does anyone know the check to jump over someone standing from where you are?

Johnny, I believe what Walter is saying is that you took an ability to prevent you from being effected by the threatened square restriction on charging and that he is taking it to mean you can charge past people. However, as the GM he can supersede the book when he decides it is warranted (like the dark side points maxing at 7 thing, or the no Jedi class Tyia adepts thing) and in this case, he does not believe it is appropriate for you to disengage a unit only to charge them again.

Being that Walter is the GM, what he says goes. If you want to argue it, go right ahead, but he has put his foot down on this and has a house rule for it, so that is about the end of it.

(On a side note, I think of it like fencing, you take a step back to avoid a swing so you can then take a step forward to add speed to your thrust. Which would be a legitimate reason to withdraw the 5' then make a charge. I would assume an axe would use the same concept only with a stepped swing rather than a thrust. Just my two cents on that.)

If I can charge forward or at my target thats fine even if I am adj which would follow having to stay in a straight line and move 2 90% of the time. I am fine with the house rule in the PDF that you cant withdrawal and Charge. I just dont get this other house rule Walter has created thats all.

What other house rule are you referring to? I listed the only one that I was changing on the fly.

You can charge past threatened squares because of your ability (I think you have to make a roll though), and as long as you are moving in a straight line you can charge. I need to look up if the character you are attacking has to be in front of you when you end your charge or just adjacent.

And in the fencing example you can attack then withdraw, then next round charge (I fence too).

[edit] I forgot that it was already in the house rules.

That answer will require a Knowledge (technology) or a Mechanics check and thus should be added to a post in-character.

is there a reason why you downgraded my weapon from 2d10+2 to 1d12+5?

A improved 2d10+2 damage weapon's average is 13, with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 22, a base 1d12+5 damage weapon has an averages of 12 with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 17. Statistically the non-powered weapon is only slightly lower or even, and if you improve it or take any talent or feat that adds dice it improves the numbers more with the higher die type... and I did not define what 'special' means...

Thank you all for creating such great opportunities for other players to RP there characters. This has left me in a strange place. Since there have been so few responses I feel that I should move the game forward, but because of the current conversation that seams forced to me. If I will wait till 7pm est tomorrow to go to the next scene, please respond before then if you want impute on what is being discussed.

Sorry for the absence. I have had a lot going on and have not been feeling well, so the last thing on my mind was posting after working long days (actually I went to bed most nights at around 7pm). I will post tonight after the kids go to bed in the IC thread.

Responding to Nu, "Well, I was able to sense a dark presence earlier though I am not sure as to the danger to us. It is more of a danger to myself if he notices that I am a force user. The presence I felt is located on the floor below us." I certainly hope its not some imperial inquisitor. I have only heard about what they can do to force sensitive beings. Avran looks noticeably uncomfortable as he is thinking.

Actually there are two presences that you have noticed. The Dark one that is coming from the audience chamber and you have met before and a another one that is being distorted by something that is coming from below your rooms.

[Edit] I feel like I am interrupting if I move the story forward. Are you all finished with your conversation?
