December 9th and 10th work for me at night (6:00 Central Time). Technically any other day during the week works for me as well (except Tuesday) at 6:30 (Central) just it is a weekday and I enjoy the time I can sleep before the next day (work starts at 7 AM for me).

December 9th works good for me. My weekends are usually really packed, but I could arrange to be on Vassal if this is the only time people can meet to play. Evenings during the weekdays are really good for me if this works for people.

The 9th or 10th also works for me. Afternoon/evening is best. Just make a time & I'll let you all know if I can make it or not.

Sincerely,
Jester007

I work both days from 6am-3pm central time. After that Lisa and I should be able to play. It is her finals week though, so she is concentrating on her school right now. (hence her lack of posts, she probably won't post again until the 14th or 15th)

Works for me. I'll hop on about 8:15 EST to give enough time to sync up and work out any problems.

Sincerely,
Jester007

I have calculated all the characters current XP from the combat encounters and posting, currently the characters have:
  • Jester007 playing Cander Forte (5,146)
  • obikenobi1 playing Nuhaatyc (5,336)
  • spacemanspiff playing Avran Jenko (5,146)
  • Jedi_Master playing Dorian Evern (6,201)
  • sweeteyes55 playing Elanor Evern (6,011)
  • jonnyb815 playing Skad (5,591)

Any player that has not turned in a background can still do so for XP. Also, the first player that provides a wright up of each live session in story form will receive additional XP.

After reading withdraw, aoos,Charging I dont get why you cant use manical charge when your adj to start the round or really at all.

To move away you take an aoo unless you withdraw.
To charge you cant move into someone elses square, terrain or low objects and move at least two squares in a straight line

It says nothing about charging pass some one your in combat with if your ok with taking the aoo if you follow the Charging and aoo rules. I understand the house rule says you cant withdraw and charge the same character thats not what I was trying to do. I understand how they could block your movement since your moving fast with this action and might get stopped from the start but the book really says nothing about that in the book or house rules. If we want to make that a house rule thats fine.

All I am doing with Manical Charge is what it says in the book

I am not withdrawing only moving pass.
"When using the Charge Action, You can make a Persuasion check as a free action to intimidate your target and each enemy you pass within 1 square of. when your check is succeeds against an enemy you pass, it cannot make an attack of opportunity against you. When your check succeeds against your target, it loses its dex till the start of your next turn"

All I am doing is what the text and what makes sense in my eyes is saying moving pass them. I am not breaking any of the aoo or charging rules or withdraw rules. I stayed in a straight line and moved at least two and didnt move into their square just pass and was not using the withdraw action to move away just moved. I would think my Persuasion Check could get passed getting blocked in. So can you please tell me what I am missing.

Outside of what the book says in real life if I am a charging animal and your adj to me I am going to move past you most of the time. We are talking about a Bear type creature charging a human or even bear vs bear. All I am doing is running like a crazy animal and they are scared, use my str to push my way out or they dont know what to do for a sec so I get away in that time is how I see it. I would just like to know what I am missing. I know rules are just guidelines but this one doesnt make sense to me.

So is the whole problem is that I forgot to say that i needed to make a persuasion check to get passed on each person I moved passed and it had to follow charging rules if thats the case then I am sorry for not telling the whole thing about the feat and that it had nothing to do with withdrawing.

After looking over the house rules I have a new trick outside of intimidate, attack and my limited skills. TAUNT

I know its not great but maybe taking away a swift and all morale/insight bonuses could be useful at times.

I'll comment on the whole Charging action stuff.

Lets say there's only one enemy you/we are dealing with. It makes absolutely no sense tactically in a fight to turn your back on someone in order to disengage to build up momentum for a charge against the same person. A charge is a way of closing the distance to an enemy quickly. Once you make contact, that's it. The Maniacal Charge flavor seems to me to strike fear into those nearby as you charge. It does not suggest that you are mindlessly throwing yourself into combat; but when you do wade in, you presence is is heard across the battlefield.

Now because you have a jet pack Johnny, you have a way of getting around how charges normally work. We can easily say you are using the jet pack to make straffing attacks which allows you to fly circles around people.

Are we currently being escorted again by 2 Gamorians? I thought that is what you said in the RP night.

Sorry for the slow response, I had to work this week end. I have posted in the IC thread and will go from there.

Spiff, forgive me, what was your character doing when Darga was rewarding the victors?

The house rule doesnt make any sense watch UFC fighting,Football,a bull charging someone with red even though they are right in front of them. They are going to try and Rush no matter what. This is what the AOO is for.

So Your pretty much saying all your guys are stronger than me and I have no chance what so ever to even try and rush pass you.

In Football they double team but sometimes they even get past or pretty much the same thing with a bull charging red. He is going to go after that red even if the target is right in front of him.

Again I am not withdrawing for battle I am just trying to get an extra step from my movement.

The only reason I took the jet pack was to counter movement and make him look and feel more like the KOTOR Houk from the new game. Since I am not going with armor I am pretty much useless if you go adj to me without the jet pack that I really dont want to use. I really think if you were going to house rule something like this you should of said so way before. I would of picked a different species and pretty much reworked the whole character if I knew you couldnt charge anyone your adj to.

Its pretty much like saying a shooter has to shoot who he would shoot in real life . Most the time they are going to shot the closest guy. A shooter is adj to a guy and in real life odds are would shoot that person. But in the RPG you dont have to shoot that person if you dont want.

So people even if they are adj cant try and move to get extra str on there swing.
Thats all I am trying to show. I think giving up an aoo is enough of a counter than trying to make a house rule.

The problem I have is how do you know my character would not try and move if it would help him swing better even if it puts him in harms way. Before I tried to give examples of charging while against a target really thats not what I am trying to show. I understand why I am trying to do is not really charging but it still gives me extra power to my attack. Yes moving two squares is not really charging its more jumping in the air with your weapon striking them harder than if you were not to move. To pretty much take this move away from me because its not charging my definition is silly. Yes charging odds are would give me 10% more power but moving while attacking is still going to give me extra power thats all I am trying to show. Do we really need to rewrite the whole rules just to show this just because its not a true charge?

Even if I was trying to really charge a animal will try and move to whatever it needs. Have you ever seen bull fighting? Or even football with DE's they are still moving vs others to get to the target thats all I am trying to do. Soccer or Basketball they try and put on a move to get what they need done. Thats all I am trying to show with my extra movement.

Say I take a -2 on the attack or come out with something than just saying no to say no when in real life it would work even though its not called Charging.

Immediately after the battle, Darga asked my character if he would tend to the wounded, which I did, I then went off to Nu's room under the guise that he had a headache form drinking too much (a lie to cover his tracks). I thought that the RP would resume with the Gamorians after resting up in our rooms. My character went to his room to rest after a short time being in Nu's room.
