That shapeshift is pretty sweet. I should of done that species for the RPG at gencon. I never thought about that.

Go ahead and make a character, I'm pretty certain James won't be able to play, and odds are there will be someone else that won't end up making it. I'm giving you permission, even though Jonny said we are "full". James is computer less at the moment, so you can take his place.

Really? Cause I'd have to vote 'no'. We're at 11 already, 10 if James is down for a while. As "Privateers" we're going to have to hijack Capital Class ships just to have any sort of challenge level. Not to mention, the more characters we get, the less important all of our roles become, look at the Nobles...two nobles in a party is unusual and even though they go different directions they still detract from each others LEadership role.

I highly doubt we will have more than 8 people show up. We don't even have 1/2 of the characters listed yet. This has been the case with every RPG we've done, people say they want to play, then don't.

Is this campaing going to be mostly combat? I ask because Dean and my character are generally not fighters, and excel at skill challenges and having just plain fun messing with other NPC's. If we can have some skill challenges thrown into the campaign along the way that would be great, since 2 people can utilize what we do best. I know my character particularly would be excellent at infiltrating enemy ships and causing all sorts of mayhem (maybe even commandeer it without having to kill more than one person, since I have a good chance of impersonating the captain and making people believe I am indeed their genuine captain. 8-) ).

I'm not sure how everyone else can be involved in skill challenges, but i'm sure we can all pool our skills into some interesting ways to get around some situations. You can always mix skill challenges in with combat also (ex Prison Break). Galaxy of Intrigue has a lot of info on making skill challenges on pgs 31- 61. Skill challenges add more flavor to the game and provide a good deviation from just combat 24/7. Maybe during the campaign Dean or my character can split of from the main group and do some things to help lead up to the rest of the group attacking. There are many ways this campaign can go, since it sounds really interesting and opens up a ton of possibilities.

I am fine with 10 players but nothing more than that. Odds are we will have 7-8 players most of the time.
If James doesnt play then I am fine with adding another. Its just I have said no in Pm to two others. But I know Tree and I didnt know the others so I am fine with it.

This is an exploring Campaign that's all I will say about the campaign about being about combat.

edit
If skill focus and fools luck are too powerful we will deal with it when the time comes.

Jonny, please explain the extra skill thing you were talking about. I don't know the rule at all.

not everyone is great at making background stories so to help out with that.

Pick a word that describes yours character background and then pick any skill that works well with that word.
It can be any skill other than Use the Force.

Do you only choose one skill or do you get them all? Like I choose a plant one and got 3 skills and a language?

The extra skill; is it an extra class skill that we can be trained in, an extra trained skill, or both? The book you mentioned is the only one I don't own so I can't look it up.

It can be any skill other than UTF. Both but the whole point of this is to give you a reason to make up a GOOD background story and add a little more flavor to the story not to skip how WOTC setup the rules for this game. So far this has not been a problem.
What type of character are you thinking about?

I want to play a Givin pilot / informant character that uses the Force to augment his skills. I will PM you the character and background story this weekend.

I still don't understand the extra skill. You are using the Saga rules, aren't you?

Another Force user? Isn't this supposed to be the Dark Times?

Lets just hope the Empire doesn't think about sending some Inquisitors after our little group. :fight: :emperor:

I really didnt think this was that hard to follow but i guess.............I was wrong

Yes we are going by saga rules. In the rebellion book you can pick backgrounds over Destiny points. So we are doing that just a simple version of that. Just pick another skill your not trained in yet. It can be any Skill even if its not from your class skills. Think of it as a bonus Skill training feat that breaks the class skill rules.

Its a gift from me hoping the background stories are good. So lets try this again
Pick a Word that Describes your background(Job,something that has happened slave?,the planet your from)
write a few words in your background about that word.
Then pick a Skill that fits that word.

1Bill- Character is fine
2Dean- Fine
3Matt- i need a character
4Walter-looks good from what i have seen in pms
5Chase- a few problems with the feats wow Chase made a mistake what? You need Weapon Focus to get weapon specialist
6Brad- Fine
7Tint- I need a character
8Brian-fine
9Dennis-I need a character
10 Trevor-fine. Fools luck just pushes this guy over the top for me. I dont know how you want to handle it but I think a +31 is starting to push the limits at level 4. I know there are ways I can handle this in game if its too much. I can give you a -20 to your check but you are still a +11 plus a force point.

Overall you I should of done a 28 point but you live and learn. If you guys want to change your character you can up to level 8 or so thats fine.
