This is a squad I'm thinking about running. Can anyone offer any suggestions, critique, ideas of what I can expect, tactics I should try, etc.

Master and Apprentice
75 Darth Vader, Jedi Hunter
40 Emperor Palpatine
20 Admiral Piett
15 Stormtrooper x3

I know it lacks door control. I could replace a Stormtrooper with an Ugnaut, but I think I'd rather have the Stormtroopers benefiting from Piett's Opportunist CE.

I don't have Thrawn, so try not to rub it in by suggesting him.[/u]

I have the following maps I could bring:
Death Star
The Starship
Mos Eisley
Ruined Base
Cloud City
Jedi Praexum
Rancor Pit
Korriban
Muunilist

I'm thinking of bringing the Rancor Pit, as it minimizes the effect of door control.

Yeah, Mas will be helpful with Piett either way. If you play with the squad as-is, then I would definitely consider a map that gives you a chance to use the stormies, without putting Piett in danger. Starship could work for the most part, but Cloud City, Ruined Base, or Death Star are probably better options.

I also agree with Fool though that you sort of have two different things going on here. If you want to use Piett, then you really need to concentrate on having a lot of high power attack Stormies. Using Palpatine is great, because then they can re-roll with his FPs. Adding in Vader COTS allows your grunt stormies to attack at a +12 (same as Fett BH!) for 30 damage. If they miss....re-roll with a Force Point. And if you swap to Vader COTS instead of JH, that gets you an extra 25 points to add in Mas and some more Stormies (or Elite Stormies if you've got 'em). :)

I ran this squad at the unoffical tournament this weekend, and won. The squad I faced was:

Queen Amidala
R2-D2, Astromech Droid
2 ARC Troopers
3 Jedi Weapon Masters
4 Naboo Soldiers

It was a slaughter. I lost two Stormies early on (they were screening for Vader), and that was it.

I used the Rancor Pit and won on map, and it seriously worked to my advantage. Piett got a view of the breach where he couldn't be shot at, so I got Recon every turn after the first, and R2 had nothing to override the whole game (of course, R2 died the turn after he ferried a JWM up thte emperor. Then the JWM died.)
